With a bunch of games coming up against Baltimore, now is their chance to seize control of the div.

Of the next 16 games, 13 are against BAL or TB. Yankees in the driver's seat

26 of their final 32 games are against AL Easy opponents. Someone (other than Jeter) needs to step up!

bottom of the 5th and it's 3-0 baltimore.
Yanks are gonna come back and swipe the game. It's imperative they take 2 of 3
    this weekend.

Sometimes I wonder if you're just trying to do an online persona that mimics the worst of the WFAN callers.

4-0 Orioles. my call for the Yankee come back is waning hard, rats, I wanted this opening game, then again, what game don't i ever want to win?
Be nice if Toronto holds on and beats the Rays for a 2nd night in a row, much appreciated. 2-1 in the 9th.

c'mon yanks! need 9th inning miracle action, it's been a while. The lineup changes are truly
driving me to madness every night.

Well, the Jets couldn't score a first string TD in preseason so obviously the Yankees' season is over.

    Sanchez is a dick.

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/sto...ork-yankees-curtis-granderson-apparent-injury

NEW YORK -- New York Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson was forced to leave Saturday's game with an apparent injury after striking out in the second inning against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Yankees made no immediate announcement about the nature of the injury.

The team has already lost left fielder Brett Gardner for the season and is currently without first baseman Mark Teixeira and third baseman Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez, rehabbing from a broken hand in Tampa, may be back against the Rays as early as Monday. Teixeira, out with a calf strain, won't return until later this week, at the earliest.

On Saturday, Joe Girardi shifted Ichiro Suzuki to center to replace Granderson. Nick Swisher moved from first to right.

Andruw Jones went from right to left, while Steve Pearce entered the game at first.

I hope we don't have an epic downfall like the Red Sux last year.

Luckily, the Yankees came from behind and won today's game.

Unfortunately, this was too good to be true, and reality has set in. The Yankees are in a tough road to October. O's and Rays are the threats to the AL East.

Cano is oh so very lazy! Yankees up 1 game on the Orioles, and 2.5 games to the Rays. Scary times for the Yankees.

man that was a painful game to watch today. they're not hitting.
Cano , whom i love, will catch heat for tanking today.
This week is the most pivotal of all, they have baltimore again after
the rays. do they have to surrender 1st place for a couple of days to
get back on track? may have to come to that, i hope not, but i'd rather see
the yanks blow it this week then drag it out until the last week and fall.
i'm in disbelief over here, they're not looking like my imposing yanks of usual.
c'mon guys, get it together and rebound god damnit!!

Granderson out. Teixeira out. A-Rod's first day back was yesterday.

Is it really that surprising that they haven't been hitting well?

The bullpen had been overperforming all year. Not really surprised that they're pitching less well now... although Joba and Lowe have both been extra brutal.

duly noted, but grandy has been whiffing all year, and they're going to need
him and tex to not just comeback in the lineup, but come back in the groove, and baseball is not an easy sport to do that in. gonna be a pressure cooker tonight, i hope Garcia can give them a chance to win, they need it badly tonight.

When did the Yankees ever blow a 10 game lead anytime after August?..oh, I know NEVER. Give Girardi and Cashman a raise..Girardi needs to rest Jeter, Swisher and anybody else who might hit..you know, for the playoffs..like he did all summer. Playing baseball will just kill you....

the yankees have never blown more than a 6 game lead for the division in their
history. a 10 game lead is unfathomable, they still haven't surrendered it yet.
i have faith, but it's not as strong as before. i still have much more resoect for tampa than baltimore, even though they ate the yankees lunch last weekend
