godo read. he makes the point ive asked about since the preseason started. Why are we hiding the wildcat/readoption/tebow offense? why is it such a secret?

I think the benefits of getting the repetitions in would far outweigh any element of suprise. hell, you can still run the wildcat but keep the wrinkles under wraps just to get a feel for the timing and things as simple as lining up and snapping the ball.

the element of suprise doesnt work so well when there is an illegal procedure called before the ball is snapped.

who are you really catching off gaurd? the bills? once that games over you'd have as much tape on the jets wildcat as you would have from all 4 preseason games combined.

Thats why they have practice. They decided practicing against a top 5 D in the league would be sufficient. Worst case scenario all they are doing is making the Bills spend more time preparing for the wildcat and we don't even know how much we are going to use it.

why do you care? Smart coaches don't show their cards in preseason thats why. dumb coaches open up the playbook so that everybody can game plan for them. Why on earth would they show the wildcat in preseason???? they practice against one of the best Ds in the NFL. Why show everybody your playbook???

The rest of the leauge isn't worried about the Wildcat. It can be shut down and has been shut down. It's the Jets who are building it up to be something that it isn't. If it's a handful of plays in short yardage situations then it can be effective for this team but it in the end this Tebowcat, Wildcat stuff won't play a huge role in making or breaking this season.

certainly, because short yardage situations and extending drives is of little importance.

There has been a lot of talk about the offense in preseason and for obvious reasons.

If I knew how I would post a poll to see what people think the offense will score against the Bills. It might be interesting to see how confident people are with the current offense or hidden offense as it were.

That was answered by Sanchez last night..because Sparano wanted it that way and for no other reason.

I don't think the "Tebowcat" is going to be as big a part of the offense as everyone thinks. Even if you don't use it, the other team is always going to have to prepare for it, especially with Jesus running it.

It's kind of curious to me too. The only thing I can think is that the Bills are a divisional game, and so potentially catching them off guard would be of more value than if the Jets were playing someone else.

Ryan said today that the defense is excited about the offense..he is either lying or we haven't seen jack yet. The Jets defense doesn't get excited by any other unit very easily.

the insanity and panic regarding the offense pre a single regular season snap is ridiculous.

Yeah...there's plenty of time to panic during the regular season.

Despair should set in around mid-season...

It's a biting, sardonic comment on the "mentality" of the typical Jets fan, not an example of one.

I'm a realist. I stay optimistic till we're out of it statistically.
    Then I get depressed.

I'm not buying this not showing off the offense. The Jets offense is in trouble and unless they come rolling out against Buffalo the fans and media will be pointing fingers. Every team this preseason showed something offensively except the Jets. Sanchez I think will regress further with Tebow looking over his shoulder. Expecting the defense to carry the team sounds good on paper but if the offense has the 3 and out thing again they will be worn out by game 7.

If we judged offenses by the pre season, the four lowest scoring offenses were the AFC East teams. I'm not saying our offense is going to be solid, but I think fans and the media are putting way to much stock in to pre season games. I have never seen a Jets preseason under the microscope this much. Let's see how they look the first 3 games when the full playbook is in use and then we can make serious judgments and decide if anyone deserves to be bashed.
