Not too crazy about my RB situation, but it's tough when you have a 3 keeper league.

    QB - Philip Rivers (SD)
    RB - Ray Rice (BAL)
    RB - Stevan Ridley (NE)
    WR - Roddy White (ATL)
    WR - AJ Green (CIN)
    WR - Darrius Howard-Bey (OAK)
    TE - Jermichael Finley (GB)
    DST - Bears
    K - Nick Folk (NYJ)
    ----------------------------------------------
    QB - Matt Schaub (HOU)
    QB - Mark Sanchez (NYJ)
    RB - LaGarrette Blount (TB)
    RB - Ronnie Hillman (DEN)
    WR - Greg Little (CLE)
    WR - Robert Meachem (SD)
    TE - Dwayne Allen (IND)
    DST - Giants
    K - Connor Barth (TB)

Def in 9th??? Kicker in 10th??? Seriously?!

It's hard to rate without seeing other teams, but on the surface...
    1. After missing on Brady and Rogers, you shouldn't have wasted 1st rounder on a QB.
    2. Nicks should've been available at least 1 round later (everyone is high on Cruz)
    3. Should've waited for Decker 1-2 more rounds.
    4. Best, Murray and Jackson... not bad, but there is a fair chance 2 of those will be on IR by week 10.

    ON 1-10 scale, that's a 4, maybe even 3.5 grade.

He indicated it is an 8-team league. Taking that into account, I don't find it odd that those players were drafted where they were drafted.

No kicker? No team defense? No IDPs?

It looks like you have a running back problem. I think Ingram might be a worthwile starting fantasy RB this season, but it might take Peterson a few weeks to really get rolling. (I also own Peterson, but may not use him until he first has a good week.)

Is Jonathan Dwyer available? if so, add him and cut Keller or Burleson.

You are good at QB and TE and okay at WR.

If you win the league, I don't think it will have been because of the draft. I think it will be because you made a good waiver wire acquisition or a trade.

Best is not eligible to play until Detroit's 7th game.

I am not a big fan of his draft, either, but fantasy football is weird. If he plays the waiver wire well the first three weeks and he gets fortunate with schedule luck, he can make something of his team.

    ****

Here is my only 2012 team so far-

    10-team league

    QB- Eli Manning
    RB- Doug Martin
    RB- Matt Forte
    WR- Eric Decker
    WR- Marques Colston
    WR- Calvin Johnson
    TE- Fred Davis
    K- Rob Bironas
    Defense- Seattle

    Bench
RB- Ryan Williams, Mikel LeShoure, Adrian Peterson, Toby Gerhart
    WR- Malcom Floyd
    TE- Jacob Tamme

I currently have no backups at QB, K, and defense.

I like Eli (depending on when you selected him).

Your WR setup is nice too. Is it PPR? If so, then you have a solid combo between big plays/points with Megatron and targets/receptions with Decker. And Colston is reliable because he has Brees getting him the ball.

Forte is good, and you have nice depth at RB.

Fred Davis is also good because young QBs tend to target their TEs a lot.

That looks like a well-balanced squad that should be competitive every week. And if A.P. returns to his former self, then you probably have a legit championship contender.

12-team league; PPR; snake order. I had the 5th pick (which I hate because I think it's much more advantageous to be situated at either the beginning or the end of a Round; but whatever, I tried to make do).

    QB: Tom Brady
    WR: Brandon Marshall
    WR: Greg Jennings
    RB: Darren Sproles
    RB: Rashad Jennings
    TE: Antonio Gates
    WR/TE: Malcolm Floyd
    WR/RB: Vincent Jackson
    K: Stephen Gostkowski
    DST: Texans

    Bench
RB: Ryan Williams, Kendall Hunter, Bilal Powell
    WR: Kendall Wright, Emmanuel Sanders
    TE: Brent Celek, Owen Daniels
    ---------------------------------------------

Obviously, my RB corps is pretty weak; but my strategy (which I used last year and worked well) has been to go big with my QB and WRs, while banking on less (yet consistent) production from my RBs. Having said that, if anyone has advice or suggestions about Free Agent RBs or upgrading RB via trade, then please provide your input.

Drop Sanders or Powell and get Dwyer if available.

That team looks pretty good. I expect you to make the playoffs. The one guy I most worry about is Vincent Jackson. He very well could start 16 games and not break the 1,000 yard mark. I think his reception total will be in the 60s. We'll see on all that, but if he has a productive Week 1 (7 or more catches), trade him.

Dropped Powell and picked up Dwyer.

I got VJax kinda late, so I liked the value. Also, I watched one of the Buccs' Preseason games (can't remember if it was the second or third), and Freeman targeted him a bunch. There was one possession in which he completed 3 or 4 consecutive passes to Jackson. So, I figured if that's any indication of the chemistry they're developing, then Jackson will get a lot of opportunities.

I had a casual trade-discussion with another owner, and we mentioned the possibility of this trade:
Me: get Philip Rivers and Adrian Peterson (from him)
Him: get Tom Brady (from me)

I need to upgrade my RBs, but I'd be rolling the dice with A.P. What do you think?

I think I would do that. Rivers is not a huge drop off from Brady and Peterson could be top notch come fantasy playoff time.

That's what I'm thinking too. Brady has gotten knocked around a bunch of times this Preseason -- so much so, that he wants to play in the final Preseason game to make sure he, the OL and the WRs get on the same page as much as they can before Week 1. I still think with all of NE's Offensive weapons, Brady is set-up to have a big year; but that OL is a bit suspect right now.

My main concern is that that trade would be a huge gamble because we don't know if A.P. will really be A.P. this year; and if he's not the original A.P. (or even worse -- he re-injures himself), then I lost an elite QB who probably will still outproduce Rivers, even if the Pats OL is weaker this year.

Normally, I'm decisive with this stuff, but this scenario really has got me in a bind.

Ray Rice and Julio Jones are your core; if you're in the Playoff hunt at the end of the year, it'll most likely be because of those two. It's also possible that Matt Ryan has a big year, and if that happens, then you get the combo-points with him and Julio.

Fred Davis is solid at TE and should be targeted a lot.

Your other three starters (Trent Richardson, Brown, and Dez) are kind of unknown right now. For example, Dez could have a big year, or he could disappoint -- he's got issues, and Dallas' OL is very shaky right now. Cleveland will probably be trailing in many of their games, so I wonder how much Richardson will get the rock.

I think your bench is pretty solid.

And lastly, being that it's a keeper league, you have some nice young players you can hang on to going forward.

You know, it's very useful... My draft is tonight, 10 teams, ESPN-standard (no PPR).
I'm surpised Bryant fell to 7th, I project him to go in 5th - early 6th; will keep in mind.

I love your team, you were picking 1st or 2nd, right? My only objection is Brown in 6th, I'd pick Decker instead. Not that Brown won't be good (he'll be #1 reciever, jump over Wallace), but Denver has more WR-friendly schedule than PIT.

Yeah, I considered Bryant in the 6th, was pretty happy he fell to the 7th.

I actually picked 5th in round 1 (snake draft). I was doing backflips Rice made it to me at 5. First 4 were:

    1.) Aaron Rodgers
    2.) Arian Foster
    3.) Drew Brees
    4.) Calvin Johnson

So McCoy was still on the board at 5 too. I was tempted, but I'm too big of a fan of Rice to take McCoy over him.

That's pretty damn good. I will give that an A grade.

See if you can trade Brown to the Ryan Mathews owner. I don't know if he has much left.
