Kyle just needs some oil for his creaky metal neck. It's going to be difficult for him to live up to his pick purely because he's not going to displace Revis and Cro as #1 and #2 CBs until their contract situation(s) come to a head. Burning a first round pick on the nickelback position (yeah I know that wasn't the original plan) was never going to get the team great value.
You can analyze all you guys want and I like to hear it all.But it comes down to you got it or you don't with cb's.And right now kyle has had enough time to develop.,His stock dropped and if tanny did not take him.He might have fell to the 2nd or 3rd rd.
Tell that to the teams that picked Akili Smith and a whole crap load of QB's over the last 10 years. :breakdance:
Wilson started last year pretty slow as well, but got better as the year went on. I think he'll be alright. He played decently down the stretch last year.
Not to beat a dead... but There are a few of us who have been saying this. Kyle has not made the impact nor the strides and is nowhere near where he should be. Even on ST the guy lets gunners run right past him. He is constantly running full speed but goes nowhere....wtf is that? Not a bust but aorn, the dude will be a nickl..wait, scratch that, ST/Dime Lifer
2006 - D'Brickashaw Ferguson & Nick Mangold 2007 - Darrelle Revis 2008 - Dustin Keller 2011 - Muhammad Wilkerson 2012 - Quinton Coples whats your point?
ha, I was going to include Sanchez but just decided to mention the players he so blatantly omitted to try and prove his point.
What is your point? too close to call still on Wilkerson, obviously too close to call on Coples.. Keller is an average NFL tight end. Average NFL tight ends are drafted in Round 3 not round one. The only thing you've shown is that Tannenbaum hasn't drafted a pro bowler in the first round since 2007... 5 years is a pretty long leash for a GM.
What he showed as a slot corner this pre-season has been brutal lol. He's been getting beat more often then not. And he always behind.
Of course he should be cut. So should Cro. Until we can find two more guys that are at least as good as Revis, if not better, the Jets D will never be good enough!
That's a tad drastic. While I hate Wilson's technique, who are you going to plug in in his place, Isiah Trufant? I was hoping he'd put that "chase the receiver" style of his behind him (no pun intended). I remember that 2010 opening night 10-9 Ravens game when KW'd let the receiver get into his grill before turning, and he'd end up chasing him with his back to the QB. Granted it was his rookie debut but years later, he's still doing it. When a WR puts Wilson on their hip while running straight upfield, Wilson cannot cover any lateral break to the 'opposite hip' side. He's a chaser. jmho
