the overall record UF v fsu is 33-21-2 in favor of UF, the last 38 meetings are split 19-18-1 in favor of FSU it is a pretty even split the hadnt beat miami since 1985 is a bit deceptive since they didnt play each other at all in the 90s when spurrier was doing his thing. Only 1 loss while spurrier was there, 3 losses during the Ron Zook Era, 2 losses under Galen Hall when we were under sanctions by the NCAA after the Pell debacle

No young NFL QB coming into the league has ever - ever - been criticized with the vehemence and force that Tim Tebow has. Ever. It's about a heck of a lot more than football.
Most QB's that suck don't have people running around trying to defend there suckness by pointing out the rare occasions they did something that looked like a real NFL QB.

Tim Tebow is on the same ROSTER as two QBs who have received just as much scrutiny as him and in some cases MORE. I know you and the other tebow lovers probably didnt pay any attention to the Jets before this season, but if you looked up "scrutiny" in the dictionary you'd probably see a picture of Mark Sanchez. The difference is that I don't feel sorry for him and cry that he's "mercilessly villified." LOL. The point still stands. Someone idiotically claimed "Florida owned the state since 1996, not just because of Tebow". You can't claim to be the "team of the state" pre-Tebow when you a) had a losing record versus Miami and FSU b) had one title compared to 5 for Miami and 2 for FSU I have long said that the psychological effect of being that good team (UF) that unfortunately had elite teams (FSU and Miami) steal its thunder for decades have made these fans truly look at Tebow as their savior. It's pathetic.

That's simply not true. What is closer to true is that no Young NFL QB that has played to Tebow's level has ever - EVER- been worshipped, publicized and defended as much as him. That's closer to reality.
This. It's like they feel bc he is their hero that he isn't allowed to be criticized. That pointing out truths, facts, and obvious observations is somehow vicious.
Yes but here is why: On the one hand you have fans of football who have no religious loyalties or collegiate loyalties for the guy. Their opinions are based on watching him play in the NFL. When they watch him play they see a kid who is a tough scrambler, who cannot throw, cannot run a grown up offense, who gets undeserved attention, who shouldn't ever be considered for a starting spot in this league. On the other hand, you have people who have affections for the man that have nothing to do with what he does on the NFL gridiron. They root for him bc they like how he celebrates, or bc he is a good Christian, or bc he lifted their program from being an afterthought in the state to elite status, or bc he is handsome. None of these qualities has anything to do with what he does on the NFL field.
This is MORE than a bit presumptuous! Is it impossible that someone may just like his style of play? I'm an agnostic and can't stand when people push religion down my throat... doesn't change the fact that I recognize Tebow is an exemplary human being and is a solid role model. He does things when people say he can't and its just fun to root for him as an underdog. All the other crap you mentioned has NOTHING to do with why I pull for him. Doesn't mean I think he's there, or that I think he should start now, and I personally hate the coverage he gets (as I'm sure he does as well). I just think that he has the ability to be a decent qb one day and defend against people who come out and say he sucks and he has no hope.
In other words you like him bc it's a cute story. I suggest u check out the other outlets for this type of storyline entertainment, such as soap operas, movies, and O magazine.
This. I could care less about his religious views, I like the way he plays ball. Yes I am a gator fan, but Tebow didn't make the program elite, nor do I feel he "saved" it. Spurrier did that job a decade earlier.
Again, the Gators were behind FSU and significantly behind Miami for decades until the guy showed up. And while they are still behind Miami in titles and head to head, this guy was the greatest thing to ever happen to your program, like the Red Sox in 2004. You like the way he PLAYED ball, as a collegiate player. That way of QBing cannot work in the NFL as a base offense. The way he plays in a big boy offense, something not run at Florida, is truly pathetic. Look, if my team was consistently second rate to not one but TWO other schools in my own state for decades, and then this exciting bruiser of a "QB" contributed to two titles, I'd love him too. I wouldn't follow him around like a lost puppy, but Id love him.
Ok, now I understand why you hate Tebow. You hate UF. BTW, it's pretty much common knowledge that UF has been the premier Florida college football program since the mid 90's. Miami and FSU owned the state in the 80's and early 90's but since then it has been all UF, and Tebow didn't save anything. We were already elite and most likely would have won in 2006 without Tebow.
