Surprised no thread has been started to discuss how much of a beast he was last night...he was often going up against perennial probowler Ryan Kalil, and he just tossed him around like a rag doll, ala a prime Kris Jenkins.

I love Pouha, and he was unquestionably one of the best run stuffing NT's in football last year, but man it's gonna be tough keeping Kenrick off the field this year, if he's capable of consistently playing like he did last night.

I can't believe they say he lost weight... because he is still huge.

No reason for him to not be on the field on third down or in 4 down lineman sets.

The thing is, even with the extra pounds he had, he was very athletic.

Ellis is one of the players that has conssistently improved game-to-game in the preseason. He looked like a monster last night. He really has a killer spin move for a guy his size, and excellent balance, too. And HE IS MEAN. So are the other two young guys, Mo Wilk and Coples. This is the future of the defense. I love it.

With Pouha and DeVito here in the meantime, we should have a top notch defensive line for the foreseeable future. Really excited about this group, will make the secondary that much better..

Dude is a beast. I have no issues with him or anyone on our starting defense.

Puoha might become the backup next season.

He was sort of the forgotten man when talking about this D line going in to the season. He was probably our best player on the line though yesterday. He has a ridiculous spin move for a huge guy. He looked so fast I couldn't believe it was him. I love Pouha but I'm glad he's missed time because it put Ellis in with the starters and hopefully helped him earn some more playing time. Pouha Ellis Wilk and Coples on passing downs.

Here we all were thinking this guy would be a bust and never see the field due to his legal troubles.

Now we're looking at Kris Jenkins 2.0

He had a bigger impact on Landry's INT, than Landry did, imo.....he just launched the LG back and forced Anderson to get the ball out well before he was ready to do so.

Seriously. I don't want to see this guy with his ACLs hanging out of his kneecaps.

well obviously i'm exaggerating a bit, but he absolutely has the talent for reaching that level if he stays on this trajectory. he actually strikes me as more of a Warren Sapp type due to his combo of speed and strength.

    Great pic by the OP!

loved what i saw out of Ellis last night. I don't think he's shown anything nearly that good to date, so its encouraging to see that potential.

Nice to see there is finally enough good defensive linemen again to run any defense alignment they want and at anytime they want to run it. That will make things even more difficult for the opposing offense.
