Hi guys, With all the media bombarding the Jets with bad press, now is your time to stand against it or jump on board. We have two weeks until the first game, are the Jets going to bust or make a run? The Following poll will be open to the public to view the results so we can look back. I know it's not as black and white as a bust is 8-8 or worse or a Run is 9-7 and better but let's see what everyone really thinks!
I think we win about 9 games this year, but for the first time in a while I could see the Jets either being dominant or finishing in the cellar. There are just so many unknowns right now.
Better than 9-7. The Jets and particularly Mark Sanchez are going to surprise a lot of people this year.
Haters gonna hate! With the Defense, barring any sig injury, this team should be 9-7. The have "enough" O if the D keeps them in the game. Its trendy to Hate the Jets, I'm a Jets fan. Sanchez come into his own this year....
Noted: But thinking they are going to make it or be a bust is Black and White. I know it's not as black and white as a bust is 8-8 or a Run is 9-7 but let's see what everyone really thinks!
Think we win 11-12 games this year, we have a great defense always have good special teams and i think we will run some good ball control once offense gets rolling.
I think 10-6. Our D will be better than last years. I think it will be top 3 with a chance to be 1 again. Our O is not as bad as people are making it out to be.
sure is....nobody has the balls to admit they think the jets will suck this year, but have no problem whining and crying in threads.
6 to 9 wins is my guess* *prediction invalid if the Jets acquire MJD, trade Tim Tebow or any serious injuries occur in the early part of the season
so your guess is they will either suck or have a good chance to make the playoffs? gotcha. 50% chance of rain today...
I don't think there's much chance they make the playoffs at this point. I give them 9 wins as a potential high point because the defense should be very good and if the offense avoids being very bad that'll turn into some wins. I don't think the Jets offensive talent this year is going to be as good as what they had last season at this point. Just the difference between having LT as the 3rd down back and whoever takes the job is enough to make that point. I don't think anybody is going to give the Jets the 45 catches and 8 TD's that Plaxico did last year either. It's possible that getting Wayne Hunter off of RT is enough to even things up there but not enough to make the Jets a decent offense in 2012. Basically the offense is worse and the defense is better and they went 8-8 last year. That's why my prediction range is unusually large. I thought 7 to 9 wins at first but having seen the offense I think it is very possible they stumble badly most of the season and the Jets win 6 instead.
I went with 9-7, but it isn't as much of an endorsement as the Op is making it. With the schedule the AFC east plays, 9-7 should be almost a given. As long as they can split with the Bills and sweep the Phins, 6-6 against the rest of the schedule should be the least to be expected.
now that's fair. I'm actually going to say 10 - 11 wins. I'm just having a really hard time buying that the Jets offense will be nearly as poor as they've looked this preseason. I can't put all that much stock into it at this point, given the install, o line changes, and injuries to our WR group. Also, without seeing the Tebow package I REALLY can't buy what I've seen so far. I think the defense will be dominant, and the offense will flash at times but be inconsistent on the season. They'll win some low scoring games, and outscore in others and I think net net we are looking at a winning season.
I am FULLY in the darksider camp. I expect a lousy year and a new coach and GM and starting QB next year
I'm betting Sanchez is the QB in 2013. He'll either have succeeded without a lot of help this season or he'll be playing for a year while the Jets bring the new 1st rounder along. I highly doubt the Jets will make the mistake of starting a rookie QB two times in a row unless they get Barkley, and even then Sanchez should play the first half of the season.
