He actually has a nice burst but he has no confidence, I watched his hands fold inward to his body three times and each time, like you said, he recovers backward and his footwork suffers, and he loses any leverage his frame offers. He does look blind at times and misses an open rusher, almost using Moore like a seeing eye dog. The only reason I think he is an upgrade over Hunter is that he actually appears to have his eyes open when the ball is snapped. Moore doesn't look like the guy he used to be, but I am not an OL specialist, so the terrible play on the edge makes him look like an All Pro. He still gets a good push on rushing downs, but his direction doesn't look as smooth as it used to be and he goes too low on each play, like he is compensating for something, likely a lingering injury. Edit: I didn't mean to sound too damning of Howard, because I saw him act far more aggressively on some downs than I think WFH is emotionally capable of, but his first preseason outing was not an optimist's dream, in hindsight.
I hope Howard plays well,,that said are we really going to give this guy the start on opening day against Mario Williams and company based on if he plays well in a meaningless preseason game ? I am real sick of hearing that we changed line coaches , schemes or that this guy can do this or that,,,I mean how did all that work out for WFH ? If they want to wait to see who is released next week so be it but I think we should have made a trade long before or used a pick on draft day ! Two weeks left and we have no clue who our RT will be or if he can even play ? simply amazing :breakdance: ps can we get a TE that can block soon or is that WFH ?
That's my whole point a good burst is of no use if you don't use your hands well. I know what you mean about him playing meaner than hunter though andd that's something you can't coach. Maybe he needs more time and can develop but im not banking on anything. As far are moore goes im not saying he's horrible now, but he is starting to become weak in pass pro. He used to be an amazing run blocker and above avg pass pro. Now he just looks above avg in the run game and average at pass pro. It should be expected given hisss age but the lack of depth at OL is truly frightening. Maybe they turn it around but there's no use discussing who's playing qb/rb/wr when this OL is at its current level
Haven't watched the Eagles much in training camp but articles describing Bell aren't looking good. http://gcobb.com/2012/08/26/demetress-bell-struggled-badly-in-browns-game/ Think the Jets are gonna have to wait till teams get closer to 45 to pick up a tackle & punter.
All you need is a "chip" to help out really, that can come from the FB, RB, TE, or a freed up Guard. Also, one of the things that killed our offense last year was lack of rollouts and predictability. Hopefully those are addressed already. They are probably saying the same thing about Hunter on the EAGLES forums...lol
 seems like it will come down to our d and the wrs. even tho the score is close i see a lot of great things form the team so far
But Sanchez still can't score. The boo birds are swarming. If Tewbow can just lift his game and direct a couple of TDs, the fans will be screaming for him.
Howard has done a great job. Sanchez has had good time to throw and has made a few good throws. Now if only our WRs can start catching some of those passes. Holmes dropped one, followed by the Hill drop that turned in to int. And I think there was a drop out in the flat as well. Sanchez has looked pretty good and once we start running our normal offense, I think we'll have a decent offense. Not to forget, we are missing our top three TEs. Basically, we don't have an NFL TE right now and our protection and passing game has looked decent. Difference? Howard.
I don't necessarily think the boo birds were swarming at Sanchez. He's looked good. If anything, the CS is holding the offense back intentionally.
Yes. But doesnt help if no one is either a) getting open or b) dropping passes. The OL has impressed me thus far though.
