This is it the dress rehearsal for the regular season. If the starting O doesn't show a pulse again against the Panthers. If we don't see first downs, sustained drives, POINTS with Mark Sanchez at qb and if Tebow does what he's been doing this preseason move the ball better than Sanchez, put more points on the scoreboard, make plays Tim Tebow should start at qb for the New York Jets week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. No more scapegoats, no more excuses, no more free ride to the starting qb job. MAY THE BEST MAN WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is no competition... Tim Tebow is not a better QB for this offense than Sanchez Sanchez knows this offense better than Tebow Sanchez is a key leader on this team, and the leader on offense Tebow has been playing against 2nd stringers all preseason while Sanchez has been playing against 1st teamers Mark Sanchez is our starting QB, and will be for the foreseeable future. What will it take to get it through the thick skull of you tgg'ers lately. my goodness.
Awesome thread. It still amazes me that people still seem to think there is an underlying QB competition happening right now. News flash... It's not happening. If there was an underlying competition then Tebow would at least be taking reps with the ones during preseason. He's not. Stop with the stupid. Please.
I forget what point you transformed from a real poster to some useless troll personality, but it was likely after your regular username got banned permanently and you ended up with a bloody tampon up your ass.
How'd you like that 'rope' Timmy bounced to Steven "I'm wide fuckin' open" Hill? One's an NFL proven QB presently operating behind a suspect OL, the other's a good (gadget) football player.
Did you really ask that in the Tebowmania section? really? c'mon man , put down the Budweiser and pick up your game bro. here is the answer sport...more than Sanchez.
C'mon MAN!!!!! What's Tebows completion percentage for the preseason? Neither Tebow nor Sanchez has put up anything but field goals. Be sure you pay attention to the Panthers game.
I like Sanchez but a reality check is always good . Tebow Lifetime QB rating NFL 75.1 Sanchez Lifetime QB rating NFL 73.2
Oh what the hell, why not wade into this one: Re: Quarterback "competition". Yep, some are absolutely right. There hasn't been a QB competition and the fact that Tebow has taken mostly 2nd team snaps illustrates this fact. Then again, there wasn't an open competition at RT either, but I do believe Wayne Hunter lost his position anyways. Not saying that it will happen, or that it should, but the fact of the matter is that Sanchez COULD lose his job, "qb competition" or not. As to whomever that asked how many points Tebow has put on the board in the preseason games ? More points than Sanchez, and that's in the "normal" offense, without doing silly little things like going for it on 4th and 1. Anyone want to break out the stats and compare the number of 1st downs gained by each QB in total? Or as a ratio of total plays ? Barcs, you're concerned about Tebow's completion % ? What about Sanchez's total yards ? Guess what ? Sanchez goes 2 for 2 for 6 yards, Greene gets stuffed on 3rd and 4, it still leads to a punt. Care to compare yards per completion ?? Tebow goes 1 for 2 for 8 yards, then on 3rd and 2, he runs for 4 yards. Sure, only 50% comp %, but the chains moved. All that said, it's the preseason, which really doesn't mean shit, but if you all are going to cite what's happened in the preseason, at least be honest and realistic about it.
He's not a troll for voicing a football opinion that differs from yours. I agree with the OP, in the sense that the best man should WIN the job. Whoever that is. It shouldn't be based off of what this analyst thinks or that guy says. It should be based off of play on the field. Right now, I think Tebow is doing slightly better at moving the ball downfield, but Sanchez is more accurate. I don't think that there has been anything to seriously threaten Sanchez being QB1 for week 1. If he doesn't step it up though, we could see Tebow time as early as week 5 or 6.
lol @ the possibility of an Ohio State fan ever saying something positive about a Gator, let alone Tebow. But hey, I hope Urban Meyer does well for you guys like he did for us. You've got a hell of a coach now.
