Cromartie and Kerley both had fumble problems last year. Santonio I remember returning punts I think in 2010 but only was given a couple chances when he was almost pushed into touching the ball. Kyle Wilson is the only one I don't know much about returning other then he returned punts in college. Wasn't White the one who took the ball out and got tackled at about the 10.
Remember in 2010 when McKnight looked terrible in the preseason and the other guy (forget his name, Washington?) looked better, but we kept McKnight and cut the other guy? There's a reason for that. He's got the potential to be a great play maker and I think he's almost ready to make things happen. He's not getting cut. No chance.
Powell never got cut and I don't remember him looking good in preseason last year. Everyone in the NFL has potential.
^Yeah I made a mistake. I believe it was actually Chauncey Washington, I was thinking of. I just remember Mcknight fumbling a bunch of times and Washington destroying the eagles in that last game. Seems like so long ago, even though it wasn't. Powell was drafted last year. I guess lack of training camp kind blurs all those things together for me
He fumbled and missed some blocks so far this preseason I think he's in danger of not making the team because of it.
The Jets look worse on offense going into this season then last and we all know how they performed last season. There are too many negatives to discuss. A lot of the problems are Tannenbaum fault. By trading up, loosing picks we have lost a lot of depth at many positions especially on offense. Look at RT, they knew for over a year that Hunter wasn't cut out for that position and yet they have no one who can step in, speaks volumes how they have mismanage personnel. As much as I hate the Patriots, they know how to acquire raw young talent that fits their system and coach them into starters where as the Jets are always looking to acquire players past their prime ie, Farve, LT, Plaxico, Derrick Mason, etc. The personnel seems mismatched or not properly used. They talk ground and pound despite acquiring players who are suited to air attack. Sanchez doesn't not seem to be comfortable with a pass heavy attack. Most of his success was when the running game was a threat and his play action/roll out would work well in compliment. The running game isn't going anywhere on 1st & 2nd, forcing Sanchez into obvious throwing long on 3rd. The O-line's lack of protection means he can't throw deep, forcing him into short dink and dunk plays. Defenses know this and are looking to undercut and jump routes. All the while your best offensive player (Holmes) isn't utilized. I'd be shocked if the offense scores more points and wins more games than last year. The way this team came apart last year makes me worried what will happen if the go through a long losing streak. On paper they're not what I would consider a playoff caliber team, 8-8 with a lot of downside risk.
