Ah gotcha. Yea for three firsts I would be willing to do it. KW and Cromartie is still a good cornerback pair. We might have a down year or 2 because of it but for 3 consecutive years having 3 extra first round picks would be awesome. We could fill a lot of holes cheaply and go after some good free agents because of it.
 We only need a RT. Why would we go extreme and trade Revis? That's the single dumbest thing I've read on here in recent times. When you are able to get one of the best (if not THE best) player to ever play the position, you don't let him go for draft picks. There's a reason Tanny is the GM and not JonnyD. Dude would probably trade half the team every year and wonder why there's no chemistry. The real word isn't Madden.
I got a feelin next year this offense will look brand new 2 new linemen 2 new wideouts New workhorse at running back Possibly even a new QB
Holmes with Kerley and Hill having another year under there belts is pretty good. I'd like to see us sign another legitimate wr but I dont think we would need 2. As for O line I'd like to see us draft a tackle. Vlad hopefully is ready to come in and play RG. Then another O line drafted for depth not necessarily to start. RB I think we will need most likely unless Powell shows he can do something in the reg season.
Not a Broncos fan. Last I saw of Kyle he had problems locating the ball when in the air. We will see what he does this season, but I wouldn't say he is a starting caliber corner because he sits behind two good corners. Dude has a lot to show on the field.
the QB part is a reach but if we suck and have a shot at Barkley, Wilson or Bray you gotta make that move I feel they all are better long term QB's who fit the mold of the new QB we see teams goin with As for WR its likely we add either a big WR or dual threat TE along with a RB The o-line will likely have Ducasse at LG and Slauson moving to RG with a new RT or Howard if he proves worthy
Crossing fingers, toes, eyes and nuts hoping we get rid of Big mouth Bart Scott for 3rd -5th rounder. Colts need a MLB
If we were to trade Revis today, we will be taking on an accelerated cap hit from his signing bonus. Signing bonus: $18mil Years divided upon: 7 years Per Year Spread: $2.6 mil Remainder portion of the signing bonus : ~$13 mil I would say the cap hit is a little more than $15 mil right now figuring in the roster bonuses he's been paid each year. If we trade Revis in 2013, assuming no other salaries are converted in to bonuses, we will take on a hit of about $12 mil. Since his salary cap charge for year 2013 is just $9 mil, we will actually end up taking on a net of an additional $3ml cap hit (besides his $9mil). So even though he wouldn't be on the roster, Jets will carry a cap hit for him for $12mil. Revis is not getting traded in 2012 or 2013. If Revis decides to hold out in 2013, there's a very good chance Jets play hardball with him knowing very well that Revis will be losing tons of money sitting home while in his prime, knowing that Revis' contract that was to expire at the end of 2013 is now good till the end of 2016. Jets have the leverage. Him not playing will not count against the Jets cap (from what I understand). Each year missed will get tacked on to the contract. Jets would have the option of taking on the additional $3mil cap hit and trading him for a cap friendly corner and picks, or just let him rot....assuming the tries to take the team hostage. Mike T did a great job on this contract. If Revis is willing to part ways, Jets can ask him to return part of the signing bonus since it was for 7 years and not 3, or he can rot on his couch.
I hope not. This pre-season is the best Kyle Wilson has ever looked...IMO. He' actually doesn't always have his back to the football. I bet he will have a career high in interceptions, which isn't saying much....but. I have mentioned this before, Kyle Wilson' best position is FS not CB. He is extremely fast running up to the play, which would allow him to make more plays on ball from FS position than CB. He's also a very aggressive tackler.
If he trades Revis he'd get multiple picks and / or a player. I do not think he will do it nor do I advocate it.
2013 is the sweet spot to trade Revis. After 2013 he goes free agent and has no value to the Jets. I disagree on Tannenbaum doing a great job on the contract because that sweet spot in 2013 is still pretty sour as you point out. Revis may well be too expensive to keep and too cap-restricted to trade. There are no great teams paying a CB like he's a QB. The closest is probably Green Bay with Charles Woodson at $10.8 million last season. He's going to be at that level for the next few years also and it will be interesting to see if the Packers can continue to dominate paying a CB that much.
I think Kyle is a bust. I have never seen him smother anyone. He is almost always chasing. All the chatter about him improving is a smokescreen to keep his value up. Guy is a stiff and I would never want him as my starting cornerback.
He could certainly pull it off if he did that, I agree. That aside though, I dont think he could pull it off because I dont think he even realizes what we need. Which is sad.
That is simply not true. He's covering the slot which aint easy and hes still a young player. Cro doesnt "smother" anyone either. NOt even close.
The reason he's chasing is because he's coving the slot...like every other corner in that position. Ray Mickens chased all day...yet he was considered one of the better nickel corners. Why, cuz he wasn't drafted as high?
