King Felix has been pretty ridiculous over the last few months. He was bad against the Angels last week but since June 17 he has 4 complete game shutouts. Throw in 6 games in which he allowed 2 or less ER.
In Anaheim tonight, Torii Hunter accidentally spiked the home plate ump (Greg Gibson) in the face. Gibson was replaced by the first base ump. Wasn't the first time this season that Gibson got caught. http://deadspin.com/5904010/umpire-greg-gibson-took-a-stephen-strasburg-fastball-to-the-crotch
Kemp and Mattingly ejected from Dodgers/Pirates Kemp could get suspended for a few games. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/16/matt-kemp-gets-ejected-bumps-an-ump
stanton became the first player ever to homer in each of his first six games at a ballpark, with his homer in the first inning in Colorado first all-Yale battery in over 100 years when the Red Sox had Breslow-Lavarnaway
Ryan Vogelsong's absurd box score today Pitchers...............IP.......H......R......ER....BB......SO....HR......PC-ST R Vogelsong........3.0+.....8......3.......3......1........7......0.......96-66 Apparently Everth Cabrera fouled off 15 pitches in his first 3 at-bats.
Also, Amarista just made a ridiculous catch in Right Field foul territory between two players, almost crashing into one of them (Top 7th)
Mattingly got 2 games, Kemp none. Dodgers finished up their second 7-3 road trip since the break, 1/2 game up on SF with the Giants heading into LA for three.
I'm surprised because he did bump an ump Maybe they gave him leeway because the ump was being an idiot. Still, even an accidental bump often warrants a suspension, no?
Usually. I had it on XM with the Pirates broadcast and they seemed certain Kemp would get suspended. By the time I actually saw the clip for myself I knew the outcome and was kind of surprised he wasn't. To your point, the umps were acting like belligerent assholes to both teams that whole series so that might have factored into it. Kershaw on the hill tonight vs the Giants. Sometimes that first game back from a long road trip is tricky, hoping he keeps them in the game, I'm not expecting a lot of offense tonight.
the HP ump apparently didn't have a very good reputation, and according to what I read, Kemp just yelled "Let's go Dre!" for Ethier, who was batting. I was watching when it happened as well (mlb.tv home team announcers) and yeah the Pittsburgh announcers were pretty sure he was going to be suspended. Ends up being no big deal for the Dodgers with just Mattingly getting a couple of games.

Cheating again? Too lazy to read about his past/history. Thankful the Yankees didn't re-sign him. EDIT: Two California Bay-area players test positive for Testosterone. Hmmmm
You don't remember the HGH doctor who was injecting him with stuff (allegedly his own cells)? That's how he made his comeback. Guy was finished. He never had a good work ethic. All of a sudden he's an effective pitcher again. Last season with the Yankees and this season with Oakland I'm sure never would've happened without cheating. How many borderline obese 39 year olds have ever been effective pitchers? I can only think of David Wells.
