ESPN.com: New York Jets [Print without images] Tuesday, August 21, 2012 Bart to Prince: Get me another donut, rook By Mike Mazzeo Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is lucky he doesn’t have Jets linebacker Bart Scott as a teammate. Asked about the the hazing incident gone viral in which Amukamara got thrown into a pool full of ice water by defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, Scott scoffed to ESPN New York 98.7’s Stephen A. Smith on Tuesday, “I mean, I heard about it, but come on man, at the end of the day, Amukamara is still a rookie after (seven) games. This morning he should’ve brought the donuts. Come on, man.” Scott was more upset that the incident ended up on the Internet as a result of a tweet from punter Steve Weatherford. “Come on, he's a rookie. He is going to get hazed. ... Steve’s my boy, but there's no reason that that should ever be aired. That's in the room, locker room stuff,” Scott said. “Stuff (like) that goes on within the sport. Certain things other people can't understand. You can't try to explain it because you just sound stupid trying to explain it. What I am saying is that's football stuff. It happens all over. We cut a B-plus in a dude's head because he said he graded out as a B-plus. We thought he was retarded if he thought he was performing at a B-plus. He said he should be with the 1’s. He was a rookie, so we took some clippers and we cut a B-plus in his head and made him wear it.” It was a poor decision, Scott said, because it takes the Giants away from their focus. But that doesn’t mean the hazing should stop. “Steve’s my man, but I’m sure he wishes he could have that back, because that team is dealing with some distractions they ... shouldn’t even have to deal with because that’s in-house stuff,” Scott said. “That should’ve been something guys should be laughing in the locker room the next day. There’s plenty of rookies that have been baptized. I’ve hog-tied guys, there’s guys that have been hung upside down from goal posts. That’s just part of football.”
But hes not a rookie... I think this whole deal is silly but I don't like that people keep trying to excuse it on that basis
Bart was on with Steven A Smith at the end of the interview he said he was going to call over to the Giants and tell Prince to brig him a box of donuts.. lol
He got hurt on his 2nd day of training camp last season and sat out the rest of it. Maybe they think he's still due for some hazing.
With FAMU they were beating and punching them that's hazing getting put in an ice bath isn't they get in the ice bath after every practice and in their eyes he is a rookie still since he was injured last season and they couldn't do nothing to him. It goes on in HS to College to NFL
in all honesty the guy is lucky he didnt get injured being thrown head first into a bucket of water. i mean it probably says right there on the bucket... NO DIVING. that said this world is so full of cunts that cant deal with the fact that some people will at some point get hurt, and even die. its a shame that these whiny fucking cunts who never even played football even bother to follow the game. they fuck it up for hte rest of the world.
I dislike hazing. I think it is the province of small men. Traditions, those are okay. If it's tradition for newcomers to fulfill a certain role, do a task, sing, whatever -- I'm fine with that. Because it's more inclusive -- it says "you are one of us, do what we did when we got here." But the one-on-one pranks, where some douche starts doing stuff just because he can, and you're supposed to take it? Lame.
The NFL doesn't haze balls... They carry bags, wear embarrassing outfits and wake up covered in shaving cream. No one gets beaten/forced to drink alcohol.
