You want to ground and pound? Let's trade for MJD. Jags don't want to pay him and MJD won't play without a big contract. Give 'em a conditional second round pick, give MJD his cash, and let's hope he can carry our terrible offense for the next few years!!

If the Jets could ship Tebow and a 2nd to the Jags for MJD they should probably do it reflexively at this point. The problem is the Jags aren't stupid.

There's also the whole salary cap problem.

Wait a minute - whether there is a Qb controversy with the Jets are not, and even assuming for argument's sake there is not one, are you saying that Sanchez doesn't have anything more to prove than Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers?

Call me crazy, but I think Mark Sanchez has a hell of a lot more to prove than those two guys.

Sure he does, but nothing he does in preseason is ever going to change that.

No one has ever proven themselves in the preseason. If he went 20 for 20 with 4 TDs a game I would be impressed but it still proves dick. Perform where it counts to prove yourself.

And how does one prove themselves in preseason? What's the barometer? What would make people go "Wow, he really has changed my mind about him, he's definitely a high calibre QB." You know what would make people say that in the preason: NOTHING.

Sanchez has attempted 17 fucking passes in the preseason and we're talking about his yards per attempt average. Give me a break. Are you guys serious?

Browning Nagle proved himself in the 1992 pre-season and even Week 1, we saw how that went.

With a name like Browning Nagle how was anyone surprised haha. I was only 3 in 92 though so luckily I missed that disaster.

In the pre-season we went 5-0 with him, including the Hall of Fame game, Ken O'Brien was a holdout and the other QB who never really got a chance was Jeff Blake. Week 1 he threw for over 300 yards in a loss at Atlanta, turned out to be the highlight of his career.

You mean throw-up and pound the table yelling at Rex and Tanny for completely ignoring the offense!

The amount of whining and bitching in this thread is unreal. I can't accept that Jets fans are this bad. This is my third Jets forum, so I don't think it's just this site. People need to calm down. 2 bad preseason games with injured receivers and people are lining up like lemmings by the cliff. The Jets have the worst fanbase in the NFL by far. I've never seen so many people unwilling to support their team. At least phins & pats fans support their team. It's a friggin game, people. There's no reason it should make you miserable to the point where you bash everyone on offense and the entire coaching staff / front office.

Guys, there are teams out there that have never even made it to the superbowl. 14 teams have never won a superbowl (almost half the league). Things really aren't that bad. Wayne Hunter and WR injuries is the biggest issue right now and Holmes is back practicing again. The Jets looked bad in the preseason the last 3 years, and 2 of 3 of those years we made the playoffs.

With the 5th best preseason completion percentage Sanchez has a better completion percentage than Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo, Cam Newton, Mike Vick, Matt Stafford, Joe Flacco, and Matt Schaub!! He's proving himself!!

I just think people are frustrated by the complete and utter lack of attention that the offense has received other than them getting Tebow.

I regard the rest of the chatter as filler that is creating a frenzy here.

The sad fact is that even if they do get someone decent to replace Hunter and sign a great blocking TE there is still the issue of a lack of talent (or perceived lack of talent) in the skill positions.

We are 2 games into pre-season and we still don't know if Powell and/or McKnight are up to the task of being a quality alternative to Greene or whether any of the receivers aside from Holmes is capable.

I didn't particularly care for the smug attitude of Rex and Sporano when discussing the offense at yesterday's presser. Either then know something that we all don't about the talent a skill positions or they've fooled themselves into thinking this collection of players is solid enough to warrant their lack of concern. I understand the plain vanilla thing but execution is execution and I haven't seen quality execution yet on O.

I get people being frustrated with the offense. Some things are just ridiculous though.

Silver lining: underdog status is always a nice place to be.

I've been thinking that too. Some of our best years come when people think we're going to suck.
