That definitely was a PI. I'm a homeristic Jet fan so I usually don't say this but the Jets were getting the benefit of the calls most of that game.

^It seemed like the refs were letting a lot go on both sides.

I prefer safeties that can do both, however if a hard hit early, helps lead to a drop later, it's well worth it and could save a completion/TD. This was the one thing Eric Smith was decent at, laying the wood to receivers. Landry is pretty much a jacked up, faster Eric Smith, but with semi decent coverage skills as well. I think we'll see Landry more in the run stopping / blitzing game than in coverage. I'd love to see him level Brady. That's a wet dream waiting to happen because we all know one solid hit on Brady knocks him off his game.

Or hit the guy as the ball arrives, breaking up that pass and being in his head for the next couple.

Why would he get fined. Did he hit him TOO HARD?

The NFL is quite clear about launching yourself with your head in front of your body. It doesn't matter that he connected with the shoulder pad, its the motion that will get him fined, not the hit.

To me, that is a clean hit. His feet are on the turf. We'll see about the fine.

Hitting a guy with your shoulder is illegal? How the fuck are you supposed to lower your shoulder for a hit without your head leading the motion? Smh

Which part of his body was the furthest out? His head.

I thought the hit was great but based on the way the NFL is doing things I'm expecting they'll fine that.

You said he launched. He didn't leave his feet. I don't think this is a fine or a penalty, but maybe I'm wrong.

Coming from someone who has watched quite a few Redskin games, I will say with confidence that Laron is a run stopping safety primarily and will get abused in the secondary quite often.

It looked to me like he lead with the shoulder, but the head turned a little. The shoulder was definitely the brunt of the impact. Cruz even admitted it.

If someone did that to Brady now though Goodwell would throw them out of the league lol.

Landry is a beast. Coples is no bust.

But WH still sucks, and Tannenbaum should be fired for sitting tight and doing absolutely nothing about the RT position.

Ducasse is looking better, but it's a joke that NE gets a guy like Gronkowski in the 2nd round while we reach for a developmental project player like Vladdy.

And on the TE position, NE signs Shiancoe but we don't even give him a look? Instead we slum it with scrubs like the Hartsocks, Jeff Cumberlands and Josh Bakers of the world.

agree with this.....jets seem to always be on a mission to come up with the proverbial needle in a haystack player - hence the number of "project picks" they have made in the last few years.

of course in hind sight that bites u in the ass more often than not.

How do you know that Tannenbaum hasn't been calling every team and agent trying to get a RT? Hell, he traded for one (that didn't work out), so how can you say he has been "sitting tight and doing absolutely nothing about the RT position"?

30 other teams passed on Gronkowski also...

Who says we didn't look at Schianco? Just because it wasn't reported and we didn't sign him doesn't mean that the front office didn't do their due diligence on the guy
