Whats with the Bills starters getting rocked by the Vikes (without AP) I understand its pre season and vanilla defense, but this Vikings offense is devoid of talent without AP
Thats odd because they said this was the Vikings first touchdown of the preseason And according to nfl.com the Vikings scored 3 points in the first quarter, and 3 points in the second quarter (vs the 49ers) Nothing else. I know its been a while since ive seen a football game, but I could of sworn TDs were 6 points plus an extra point Not to mention the Vikings went on to score on their second drive, and got into fieldgoal range (where they missed a very makable fieldgoal) on the third.
I stand corrected, it was an opening drive field goal. That said, you can't pick and choose when preseason matters (when the Bills struggle) and when it doesn't (when the Jets struggle).
Im not saying it matters, (because it doesnt and I clearly didnt say it does) But the Vikings starting offense is TERRIBLE, and is missing its best player, yet got into scoring range back to back to back times vs this "vaunted" Bills defense. And yes it was vs the starters.
(ill also note that that opening drive fieldgoal happened because the 49ers corner slipped and gave up a 52 yard pass in man coverage. Other than that the Vikings offense did NOTHING)
Even with starters in I'm continually surprised how much ppl put into these games. Not even games but a couple of possessions. I'm more pleased with Kyle Williams having his explosion back and the fact that we've stayed away from injuries. Now are there concerns? Yes. It looks to me like Aaron Williams lacks ball skills, ala McKelvin. I wish there was a little more speed in the linebacker core. The unit isn't perfect but I'm certainly not worried over a couple of preseason drives.
That's actually not true. The Vikings offense wasn't horrible last year, they were about middle of the pack. And they added with Kalil and Jerome Simpson, who burned us on the opening possession. Not to mention Ponder isn't a rookie anymore.
Cleveland went into Lambeau and beat the Pack 35-10. You think that happens during the regular season. Preseason games are just a glorified scrimmage. They mean nothing. I always look at preseason this way, if your team can come out of them without any injuries, and head into week 1 healthy, then it was a good preseason.
Yeah but the Browns starters didnt do that damage, and they didnt do it against the Packers starters. Theres a difference between starters vs starters, and having UDFA come in and run the score up at the end of a game
It's preseason. Going through the pre-season injury free is a successful preseason. Everything else is meaningless.
yeah luck did look OK after a while. he puts the ball in the sweet spot for most of his receivers. even in his 2nd NFL game the basic pass plays, for the most part look crisp... he is a good one. freakin colts - 1st manning 14 years ago and now luck. probably another 10 or so years with him. thats gonna be about 25 years with 2 QB's. same old jets
They always do. Wait until we're on next week and down 20-3 in the 3rd quarter, I'm sure Al and Chris will be loving it.
