What I noticed was that Sanchez never took a shot downfield while Tebow took at least 3 that I saw. He had two completions for like 15 yards and almost hit Hill in the endzone if Hill didn't slip. The endzone throw was over 20 yards I think. That's what gets on my nerves about Sanchez, he NEVER takes a shot downfield. I'm sorry but you just can't be that predictable in this league, the defense will stack the box and jump all your routes, and that is exactly what happened on the Pick six play. Nobody fears that Mark Sanchez is going to beat you deep. That has got to change.

Um scoring points? Thanks to the D & special teams the O had good starting field position a few times last night what did the O do with it? N-O-T-H-I-N-G

Go ahead blame Hunter he deserves it but Sanchez isn't helping he's playing scared. He looks like Kevin Kolb out there.

Sanchez is who he is. Tebow is who he is. We've seen enough of both guys to know how they are. The problem is the team as a whole has degraded since 2010. To win in the NFL you need a really solid team or an elite QB. Without the really solid team you are just like the 90% of the NFL that's in desperate need of an elite QB.

You mean if Tebow threw anything remotely resembling an accurate pass

Tebow doesn't throw inaccurate passes, he throws the ball away. /teboi

That doesn't really matter, what matters is making the defense respect the fact that you MIGHT hit them for a big gainer. Mark Sanchez strikes no such fear into a defense. Whether you have Holmes, Hill, Schilens, or even Plaxico if they bring him back, nobody fears Mark Sanchez past 9 yards in this league. What is the coaching staff doing to fix that?

Throwing accurate downfield passes certainly does matter.

Teams never respected when Miami tried to go deep with Ted Ginn or Clyde Gates because Chad Henne could never hit them

When the QB is not an accurate passer the D can leave the WR in single coverage and leave the safety or corner up to help out in run or underneath coverage

You are right in that there needs to be a threat, but the threat needs to be real.

To be somewhat fair to Tebow, he was getting the shit kicked out of himself also.

A lot of the time he's getting the shit kicked out of him because he holds the ball and stands in the pocket like he has time to recite bible verses before getting hit.

If you're expecting Sanchez to play at the level of Brady, Brees and Rodgers your expectations are way too high.

It's difficult getting back to ground n' pound possession football when your punter has a hexagonal shaped foot and the only hole the RT can open is his gaping anus.

I was desperately hoping that Sanchez would get a good OL and WR corps this season so we can actually ascertain if he is a franchise QB. Now we'll never know because he'll have another ready-made excuse come the end of the season.

Not even the case but If look at those three # 1 is they sat and learned behind someone #2 they were nobody's at one point and got a chance through injury , or a players expired time.

Brady, Brees and Rogers have two things going for them. First, they can and will beat you deep if you don't respect them. They've proven that time and time again, so the defense must respect that. Secondly, they have all the time in the world to throw the ball because the Oline is very very good at pass protection.

Mark Sanchez doesn't have either of those things. He has no history of torching a defense for big gainers and he has an Oline that was purchased at WalMart.

The line I hate from this thread is

    “Just be patient with Sanchez”.

Screw that – it’s his fourth season. He is a mediocre man child candy ass QB – he is always going to be a mediocre QB. Pass protection is not going to make him anything more than slightly below average (which in his mind probably equals super great!) Trading him while he still has semi decent value is a key to rebuilding our future.

Tebow isn’t the answer either but he will win more games than Sanchez on sheer guts and determination – traits Marks DOES NOT HAVE.

We are back to looking for a franchise QB.

that's asinine. mark has had 3 years and he's brought his team to AFC championship TWICE. that's MARK SANCHEZ

this is IN SPITE of the fact he's had no weapons, no oline, shone greene as his main running attack, defense that folds every 4th quarter.

Mark's had one of the most succesful first 3 years as a qb in the game
