I understand that the offense is vanilla right now. I understand that there is no game planning. But whether its John Connor or Shonn Greene running the ball we should be able to pick up a yard. Going 0-3 is unacceptable. Other than WFH this was the most frustrating thing about last nights game.
Especially after Landry has that huge interception and the Jets end up going nowhere quickly. I understand these are meaningless games but, you would kind of like to see your team succeed at the fundamentals.
That play with a quick handoff to John Conner should ripped out of the playback and tossed asap . He runs too straight up and down and he always runs right into some lineman's back . Greene is our number 1 back let him go pick up one or two tough yards when we need them most . If we are going to truly be a ground and pound team we have to trust the starting back to pick up a yard against any defense .
I'm AMAZED at how useless Greene is at finding lanes. I know he's a supposed power runner but over the last seasons I have never, ever seen him locate a hole and burst through it... it's always the same fucking story - he finds the closest team mate, or preferrably a big pile of linemen, and then runs straight into them and gets stuck. The discussed situation here is a perfect example of this, just watch the replay. There were a bit of open space worthy of trying on both outsides of the tackles, yet he does his patented move and runs straight into the closest team mate. For a fucking yard. That Connor play broke down because he basically already had a guy in his face when he got the ball. I have zero problems with that play. But I want Greene fucking out of here. Never seen a starting RB with such lack of split vision or elusiveness... how Rex is still giving him a shot is beyond me - especially on a supposed GnP team. The fact that he also had the audacity to be upset with the Connor play breaking down after himself failing for two straight plays is just icing on the cake.
The only good thing you can take away from last nights game is no injuries. The Giants won but walked away with 3 injured players. Also Eli only threw or 50%, no TD's, and one interception. His QB Rating for the game was 32.4, worse than Tebow or Sanchez.
I was so pissed yesterday. There was one run outside left where he would have broken it if he cut right- he was home free. What the hell did he do? He cut left STRAIGHT INTO an LB AND DT WHAT THE FUCK YOU RETARD. So frustrating to watch these things with WFH on top of it.
John Conner should never rush the ball again. He just runs with his head down in a straight line and hopes theres an opening. There was a decent gap to the right side of the line on the 4th and 1, but he didnt even see it because he was looking at the ground.
John Connor is a figment of Rex Ryan's imagination. He saw the kid make a couple of big hits and think he's a stud. I've almost never see him blow up anybody with a big block and he has no acceleration when he runs.
You aren't watching him when he blocks. He graded out as one of the best blocking FB's in the league last year. Who gives a shit if your FB is good at rushing with the ball, he's in there to block. Stop handing it to him.
If the run game sucks it must be because of the fullback. Rather than use some backwards logic to come to a conclusion try watching him instead.
Fullback helps the run game he is not a big enough position to carry it by himself by blocking. What a dumb thing to say.
Connor made a nice catch last night and got upfield. Not understanding the Connor hate? He was given a fb dive to the right that was blown up, bc everybody and their mom say it coming. Pull that ball out PA or roll out and dive for the first. It's pre season though. Terrible play calling. IMO PA pass, with a solid fake/follow through, would have froze the entire defense.
