I was just breaking down some tape of Tebow in camp this year to last year in games. I will take back what I had said about him. I think he could become a good QB in NFL. I'm not sure he could be a starter, but he could be a good backup.
Well stop the presses. Glad we can all celebrate now because in your infallible evaluation process, you've changed the grade.
He does get rid of the ball out of his hand quicker then he did last season. His throwing motion seems to have improved from last season. Plus he got a higher football IQ then I that. I know the knock on him is he looks at his first read and if he not open he pulls the ball down and runs, but that all young QB who can run.
That's good to hear -- this kid is a good player and will keep on working to get better. He's got a good arm, just needs to keep on that footwork, timing, and anticipation. It's going to be fun this year. If everybody can relax now that it's clear Sanchez isn't going anywhere, it's going to be fun having a "wild thing" that can come in off the bench.
I think if u ask must long time jet fans it not to much Tebow but has fans. We don't want to hear the first time Sanchez throws a int there calling for Tebow. Trust me if Mark doesn't improve this season u will hear us calling for Tebow.
Good to hear there seems to be improvement. So your saying he's on Sanchez's level then...lol...(sorry, just couldn't resist that one)
You will!? I personally would never do that in any case, but I'd love to hear it. Maybe Fireman Ed will lead the charge? :breakdance:
Based on the experience in Denver, Tebow was a first round pick (so the "let's get one with" attitude is more prominent). But the fans were just fine all the way through a 4-12 season with Orton. The idea that some sort of "pressure" made Orton crumple was a myth. Things were fine -- the chants were non-existent. The next season was frustrating because of the lockout and the attempt to trade Orton. It just made everyone sort of chapped and on the rag. The "billboard" was from a local merchant trying to profit. The chants, again, were not prominent. It took a 1-4 start to get Tebow in there. I think if the Jets are doing some reasonable winning, it's going to be fine. And if the Jets are losing game after game . . . . well, that's a bad situation for everyone anyway, Rex included.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UFvj2a17KU Here's a link to Tebow and McElroy throwing a few passes in training camp. Is it me, or does Tebow's throw look more compact than McElroy's?
It's eerie how it looks like the schedule is set up to be a 1-4 start again with Tebow probably taking over for Indie.
I'll give you props on admitting to changing your mind to some extent, a lot of people have their heels dug in. A lot of people would refuse to look at it from another angle. Also I am a Tebow fan and at times his fans annoy me too
Same here -- I've got better things to do than look at or perpetuate a bunch of pro-Tebow trolling, or hater-Tebow trolling. I came here because I love NFL football, and I'm hoping for some fun times (even if there are some bumps in the road). So I have to give some props to one I thought least likely to take a balanced approach.
What were you breaking it down with? Gastric acid? You know less about football than Nick Nolte knows about sobriety.
The question is, does he revert back to his old throwing motion in live game action? Because the answer so far is that he does every season.
