I realize there is a limited amount of information you can garner just from looking at stats or a box score, you often need context of a play...Like on a pick was the ball tipped, did the reciever run a bad route, did the OL miss an assignment, etc...Obviously a box score or stat line won't tell you this. Having said that, it should be a bit troubling for Jets fans as to all of these INTs piling up...Even if it's not Sanchez's fault, some facet of the offense isn't performing up to par well enough for this to be happening at this rate. I get the feeling that media members as well as the Jets organization from the FO to the coaches to the players are just telling themselves Sanchez is doing well so that they will believe it. The media does it because they have a reputation to uphold...Many of the national types were very finite in their evaluation of Tebow before he came out of college, so it seems like the headlines coming out often favor Sanchez as vastly outperforming Tebow even though it looks like both are really struggling in my opinion. The Jets organization is going to naturally talk up Sanchez, so there's really no surprise there or anything wrong with that...Heck, I even remember the Dolphins talking up Chad Henne last year saying he was showing the potential to lead us to the SB..lol..So its perfectly normal for a team to try to build up their QB's confidence. However, there is really no evidence to support the talk thus far...I keep hearing how well Sanchez is doing, but most of it is pretty ambiguous stuff like "he's carrying himself better this year" or "he looks like he commands the offense.." But all the numbers coming out of camp and the performance in the 1st preseason game playing against a vanilla defense just don't reflect it. Perhaps it isn't on Sanchez...The OL looked pretty shaky to me in that first preseason game, but the fact is the results just aren't matching up with the talk...
I agree there's nothing to show for the talk yet, but the local media honestly doesn't even seem to make an attempt to evaluate the QB play beyond the numbers which is disappointing to put it nicely. I don't know how vanilla that Bengals defense was though. Did you watch the game? They were at least sending some complex blitzes. Not sure about how complex they were on the back end - it's usually hard to tell on TV.
Yeah they did throw some blitzes in there...They weren't masked or complex or anything like that though.. Pretty basic blitzes that most QB's in Pop Warner or High School would face... As for the local types..yeah, I could use a little more insight as well...But still, the national media is just as general in their evaluations IMO (not to mention some of them only see 1 or 2 practices and try to tell us who is doing the best based on that)...so it is what it is...

Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Great stuff from Darrelle Revis, who absolutely suffocated Stephen Hill on a pass route without every laying a finger on him. #nyj

Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Brown and Folk end camp with a 4-for-4 day on field goals. #nyj Seth Walder @SethWalderNYDN Practice over. Sanchez wins.
That Seth Walder guy is an idiot declaring which QB "wins" each practice. That's why I unfollowed him. Unfortunately Manish retweets every one of his tweets.
I can't stand that either. It's either Jets win or Jets lose. It's also absolutely ridiculous to think that some Jets fans believe there is a controversy from shits like him.
someone tweeted the total attempts/made for each kicker this week for the entire camp and folk was ahead by a large margin.
I tend to agree. I only followed him because Manish RT'd him so much. Then I just got in the habit of copy/pasting any tweet relating to TC info including his.
Really? Must of missed on some practices. I guess Folk will be our kicker again. Josh Brown was booming kicks on kick-offs during the first pre-season game. Folk was never really good at that to begin with in that aspect. I wonder if were going to go with Conley also then. lol - too bad Mangini isn't the Browns HC, I'm sure we could of pulled some strings!
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Offense stays on field long after defense for a walk-through period. More top-secret stuff, I suppose. #Jets Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Sanchez said he's been more vocal with the receivers, telling them, "This is my huddle!" #nyj
