Do you read the Tebow section? I'm not saying people actively say "mark sucks and needs to lose the job", but there are quite a few people that are saying Tebow is better and will be starting for Mark when it's clearly not true. Just saying. The Jets team >> than any one player. I said that I hope those chants don't happen like they did in Denver, unless Sanchez plays god awful. I say the more snaps they get at this point, the better.
And that objective analysis is brought to you by the same people who think Earth is 6,000 years old...
Most folks in the Tebow section say that Mark should be the starter. Every team has a few crazy fan, but Mark is the best QB on the team by far. I think your making one or two people into a whole group.
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Final QB stats: Sanchez 9-for-13, 2 INTs, 3 sacks. Holds for 2 FGs. Tebow 4-for-9, 1 INT, 1 sack. Sloppiest day in terms on TOs. #Jets Mike Sielski @MikeSielskiWSJ BREAKING: Sanchez throws football into garbage can from 45 yards away. #NYJ sign garbage can.
It's funny how all we get is the numbers from all the local beat reporters. Most of the more accomplished guys reporting have spoken very highly of how Sanchez looks in camp in terms of control of the offense, decisiveness, zip, leadership, ... Our local dunces can't get past stupid numbers. I'm glad we signed that garbage can though.
I haven't seen much of camp other than a clip here and there but I thought he looked really good throwing the ball the other night. Were the sacks his fault? I don't know but throwing the ball he looked really good.
Meh, all I said was I hope it doesn't happen, not that all Teboners hate Sanchez. I think Tebow's great for the team, and most of the fans that joined this year following Tebow are joking themselves if deep down inside they don't want Tebow as the starter. I don't really mind the fair weather fans, I just hope people aren't stupidly swayed by the media into disrespectful unjustified Sanchez chants, that's all. We should fully support him unless he plays terrible. That's really a message to all Jets fans not just the Tebowites because honestly, darksider fans are much worse than fair weather fans, IMO. At least the fairweather fans are fans.
I think the first sack probably was his fault. They sent more than we could block so he has to either audible presnap to a quick hit route or throw it away. I don't recall the second one well enough.

I tend to agree. Numbers in camp aren't as important as how the guys are actually playing. So the QB through an INT? Why? Did he over/under throw it? Throw it into double coverage? Was it a bad throw in general just totally off the mark? Or did the WR run the wrong route? Or over/under play the ball? Or did it tip off their fingers into the CBs hands? Which receiver was it? A vet or a rookie? Which CB/LB was it? Was it Revis beating an undrafted kid out of college or was it a 7th round pick beating one of our best receivers? (whoever that is at this point with all the injuries) Obviously they can't tweet all that information but the reason that stats are important in the regular season is because you know it was an NFL player on all sides of the play and you can see for yourself who dropped the ball on the play. You don't know that in camp so the numbers can be misleading just presented as numbers. Those numbers don't look pretty but even the nice looking ones can be misleading if half the starters weren't on the field at the time.

Sorry Bart (and Mark).....but let's see in no particular order these guys are better imo. Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Eli, Stafford, Rivers, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Schaub, probably Cutler, Newton, Flacco, Romo, Vick, and Peyton is back. Wouldn't mind being proven wrong.
Out of that group the clear cut are: 1) Rodgers 2) Brady 3) Brees 4) Eli 5) Roethlisberger 6) Healthy Peyton It's not a stretch to say that Sanchez can outperform the rest of them if he takes it up a level or two this year.
You're arguing that he's not in the top 10 now. Bart said he can be in the top 10, not that he is in the top 10. So you're arguing against something that was never said. How can you be "proven wrong"?
