Yeah, I watched the first preseason game and the O-line is worrysome. 1st string, the 2's, they all got pushed around by the first, second, and third string defense. However, I didnt see to many reassignments by Mark or Tebow called out to the Oline for shifts, so the basic offense they played could have played a part in that.
I hope Hill has a better game this weekend. I have big hopes for the kid and it seemed like at the start of camp those hopes were warranted but haven't heard much positive stuff leading up to the first pre-season game and beyond from pratice and whatnot. Maybe he has a few little injuries or something, he's one of the only healthy WRs we have so he might be getting a lot more snaps than normal and maybe his conditioning isn't there.
Eh, he's just raw. But from everything I read, he wants to be great and he has they physical tools. I think he'll need some developing, but I think he'll be huge for this team.
That's fair and I get that patience is a big part of development. I'm not saying if the kid doesn't put up Megatron like numbers in his first year he's a bust. I just hope that he can be a very solid contributor. Will he drop the odd pass? Sure. Will he mess up his route running from time-to-time? Probably. Is it possible his conditioning isn't there for the NFL grind? I'd say so. That's all fine, I don't expect him to be perfect, but I just hope he can be a reliable young WR and he does have all the tools to do that. Let's just hope it shakes down that way.
We have to remember he's a rookie - probably still swimming mentally and as you point out physically. He'll probably show us some great things this year in spurts.
Or maybe because there's more than one guy on the team and they know Jets fans are very interested in seeing Davis get on the field on 3rd downs.
Seems like he's getting banged around a bit at practice today. Vrentas mentioned him getting some jammed fingers taped up, and Cimini noted that he was limping a bit. With all the injuries so far at WR it might be prudent to pull back on him a bit at this point even though he needs all the reps he can get...
Guess the sarcasim didnt stand out there. I fully understand that, bud. I enjoy reading about all the guys and learning about them.
Final QB stats: Sanchez 10-for-20, 0 INT, 1 TD, 1 sack. Tebow 2-for-9, 0 TD, 0 INT, 2 sacks. Completion pct lower than age (25). Happy Bday. Rich Cimini @RichCimini Hill is limping slightly. #Jets can't afford another injury at WR.
I thought it was pretty funny! I havent followed Cimini much, but he a dry comedy about him. I dig it.
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Post-practice: Fans serenading Tebow with Happy Birthday. Get me out of here. #Jets weirdos
