So he doesn't have a similar skillset? I'd even say Cro's skillset is more similar to Sanders than Revis' is, just because of the type of player they each are. Revis = very physical, excellent coverage skills, and never misses a tackle Cromartie = Speedy, above average coverage skills, and not really that physical of a player. He also participates in punt/ko returns and offense occasionally. Sanders = Speedy, excellent coverage skills, but also not very physical. He also participates in special teams and offense. I know you don't like to hear it, but Cro is more similar to Deion, than Revis is. Again, I'm not talking about pure skills, I'm talking about similar skillsets. Try to pay attention to the conversation before insulting me like that.
even if he isnt the 2nd best.... its not some wild claim. turner/schilens arent anything special. kerley has some potential but hasnt shown much brilliance. hill has skills but is a rookie who has never played in a pro offense. the bottom line is, we lack talent at skill positions. its going to be an issue this season. it will show up in the consitency area for sure.
What is not important in this, is Cro. What it does say, is the Offensive coaching staff under Sparano, is willing to invest in whatever works. It sucks that Kerley is injured, but Sparano also played NE twice a year. The Jets will start becoming an inside quick hitting passing game offense. Keller, Kerley...Holmes...Which is inverse to Shittnehiemers 3 day pass play let's get the QB killed offense. Big things on the horizon. (And in Friday's game don't look at what they called when Mark was in, they called what is going to be the offense after he was out of the game. That was film study gamesmanship)
Byz...he's right. But the missing point is that Sanders had Revis' talent level. Cro is a notch (and a small one) below that.
Think you're oversimplifying it. Cro is a speed guy & one of the best CB in the league in playing the deep ball. Sanders would defend deep passes the same way Cro would. In that one part they are indeed pretty similar. However, Cro is not so good on the playing off receivers & is vulnerable to the slants & other quick-hitting passes. Unlike Cro, these type of passes were not a weakness for Sanders. Sanders wouldn't struggle with a Wes Welker type of receiver. Welker against Revis or Dion would be shut down completely. They both suck @ tackling but Dion could still bring people down by just throwing himself wildly & the legs of runners while Cro will simply whiff or bounce off.

i hope this isnt the case. its really what sanchez struggles with most. quick decision making and consistent accuracy. both are vital in a short quick hitting pass offense. i though the jets were best 2 years ago when sanchez too chance deep off play action and when we moved him or moved the pocket giving him an easy intermediate read. id hope we would go back to that... which we may very well do. as far as shotty. F that guy.
I wonder what offensive player is the #2 DB on the team? Belicheck used receivers as DB's in a pinch....maybe we should try playing Hill opposite Revis for a series or 2!!! How funny would it be if Hill grabbed an int and ran it back to the house! Then ran over to the sidelines and spiked Cro in the helmet with the FB and started a huge brawl that ended with Tebow on top of Sanchez "giving him the business down there"!!!
