right now i'd prefer brick slauson mangold moore hunter/howard if howard proves out then great but i'd like some continuity and vlad as both g backups and the tackle elgible in big/max protect formations
Let Howard and Ducasse push Moore and Hunter. That's how it's gonna be, a few bad games for the right side and I'll bet Sparano makes a move. Left side of the line is set.
No reason to knock Moore out of his starting spot. One if the better guards in the league and about as loyal as it gets. I don't think that loyalty means he wants to sit the bench, though. I'd rather see Vlad used as OL depth. As far as the RT position goes, it should really be a competition. I have hope that Howard can supplant Hunter as the starter, but I don't think it can happen unless we saw more of Howard with the 1's.
By the way LTJF, will you be doing a different player every week with this spotlight or are you focusing on Ducasse? Or was it a one time thing? Either way, I'm pretty sure everyone on the board appreciated that.
That OL underperformed last season and needs to improve significantly this season. Slauson has not exactly set the world on fire. He talks alot but Ducasse may be coming on strong and may be the better choice by the end of camp. Moore is a PB RG but if he can no longer get the job done, then he needs to be replaced. The D is able to put 8 in the box b/c Sanchez hasn't been able to cut the secondaries apart. Hopefully Sparano will help Sanchez to develop a credible threat such that the OL is not facing 8 in the box all the time. Its not simply the OL's fault. Sparano and Sanchez have to be able to punish a D for stacking the box.
If I had time to do every player I'd love to. I won't even promise one though. I'm hoping to stay on Ducasse throughout the preseason to see where he's at.
Thank you for the listing, it was a great read. Vlad & Howard are the two OL I'm most interested in following this pre-season.
