yup, chandler jones looked very good - freakin pats may have hit pay dirt with their picks this past april.....

melvin ingram looked good as well. the chargers have a couple good young guys on D and along the OL.

manning looked like manning to me, just a different uni. man he threw a laser to decker on one play. the INT wasn't that bad of a pass, the CB made a good play.

    steelers looked decent on offense.

That's true but Solder looked like he was having really basic issues with technique. Not so much scheme or anything. He was getting stood up regularly and played very "slow" for lack of a better way to put it. That's piled on top of a camp where reports say he's looked so-so most of the time.

Having the interior line be in shambles is probably not helping anything, but CJ's right... Solder's gotta step it up or Brady's going to be taking shotgun snaps from a wheelchair.

It was a joke. Whoever I quoted was not impressed when Buffalo's starting defense, after forcing a three and a out and then a fumble, gave up a long touchdown drive on the third possession. I was not impressed when the Jets defense, on the second possession, gave up a 76 yard drive and only prevented a touchdown drive because of a drop by Green. I fully understand that preseason means d*ck but I was informed that it's a poor excuse to make.

    True, trolls are trolls.

Its just funny with how many footbal fans are a complete joke (this isnt directed at you at all) with the overreacting to preseason shit

Just looking at a couple Jet boards you get so much 'waaaaahh' its ridiculous.

Im pretty sure most fans from everyteam do it, not really having a clue of the bigger picture.

Wont know much of anything till week 1

All the plays Jones made were against the mighty Chase Daniel @ QB

Yet Coples gets knocked for rocking backups

The plays Jones made were against Bushrod and Brees, followed by Bushrod and Daniels.

Coples presence was felt on one play against the first string OL but the Jets kept him in the line up long into the game and he really started dominating the 2nd and 3rd stringers. Granted, he didn't get much of a chance against their starting unit, but given time to get comfortable he probably could have shown up more against the starters.

He looked good, he just didn't have as much of a chance to prove himself against the starting OL as Jones did.

...Daniel's didn't hold Jones, a probowl LT held Jones.

No but the QB holding onto the ball and or not knowing when and where to move results in holding penalties

Braylon with a nice 39 yard TD from Russel Wilson.

LOL come on. Why are you so prone to saying silly things and then so averse to admitting you goofed.

I am nearly certain that had Coples drawn 2 holding flags on a starting LT you wouldn't be discounting it due to the backup QB being in the game.

If you really don't see the difference between a guy making plays against a starting LT with the backup QB in the game, and a guy making plays against a backup lineman then I don't know what to tell you.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5CPOTBmcZ8
At the 2:20 mark of this video you can see one of the holding penalties that Chandler drew. He bullrushed the LT right into Daniel as soon as the ball is snapped. Whether you choose to admit it or not, it was an impressive play.

You keep talking about it only being preseason. Well if it is only preseason why do you feel the need to keep trying to minimize a rival's player looking impressive in such a meaningless game?

Im not saying he didnt draw a holding flag.

Im saying theres a difference between getting a holding flag on a pass rush with Brees in the game, and with a no name shit in.

Plus they keep bringing up "But it was a probowl LT!"

So I feel its also warranted to bring up "But its a backup QB!"

Not to mention im watching that play @ 220 and it looks like the hold was because the QB didnt move the right way

And I'm saying if it is your implication that those 2 disclaimers are equivalent you are clueless about football

The biggest question mark about Jones coming out of the draft was supposed to be his strength. In that play, he completely physically dominates a pro-bowl starting left tackle. Bushrod doesn't stand Jones up, he doesn't redirect him, he barely even slows him down. Jones just overpowers him and pushes him backwards directly towards the QB. If Brees or any other QB were in the game, the results might have been different. Maybe it would have still been a holding flag, maybe a sack, maybe even a completed pass. But in any case, we would still be talking about how Jones dominated Bushrod on that play.
