It's a shame Westhoff has to retire with a severely neglected special teams unit.

With McKnight as our back up i don't know exactly how much grounding and pounding we plan on doing.

Need a WR and a blocking TE

Cumberland and Keller could not hold up blocking.
Cumberland gave up a pass pressure right away and Keller gave up the inside on an inside run.

I'm surprised Tanny hasn't brought a guy in yet.
We are running the ball this year I believe?

Also, we miss a Cotcherry like WR.
Professional route runner with excellent hands.
Holmes could actually play that role, but he is our #1 WR and we need someone to play off him.
Who does Sanchez go to for the big catch when he needs it?

Cruz on the Giants is an example.

Hill can be a big play guy with size and speed.
But who's our 3rd down guy?

I see us having to make a move for a WR (may be necessary to make a trade) and a blocking TE (this may arrive via free agency or post-cuts).

There was "ground" but no "pound." I am worried about our OL in general and RB in particular.

    1. Our OL is not dominant. And there is no depth. Really worried.
    2. Our RB (Greene) seems to be avg at best. Need real RB to move the pile.

Hopefully by 3rd preseason game, we will know more accurately about our team.

Looks like an underwhelming pool of offensive talent. I can't believe this is the best Tanny could do with the O Line, and running backs. It's going to be a long year.

No injuries except for Smith. I feel great but I am tired, long week. That's how one should feel after week 1 pre-season. Its Rex and the coaches problem, back to work for them real early back in Cortland. Need to get things fixed before phase 1 of camp breaks. Every coach is saying the same thing. Same old same old. It comes down to injuires, the Bengals lost 3 starters in the game in the first 5 min., I will take the loss instead. Loved the kick off's

Nope. They are more about evaluating the young guys and see who makes the team. Why do you think Sanchez and 1st team only played one quarter? We already know who most of the 1st teamers will be.

The oline was our weakest link tonight by far, that's for sure.

The worst thing about pre-season games is all people on here spending unlimited time on telling us that it doesn't mean anything or that we were running vanilla o and d and what have you.
We get it, the result mean nothing, but other aspects mean something. I think you can see patterns from games that are hard to just switch on in real games if they are not there in the pre-season.
I am not convinced about our running game, online and rb are weak, and leave Sanchez at 2nd and 7-10 every time. On the other hand, since Sanchez no d has ever respected the throw so it is hard running through 8-9 people.

I think he was being sarcastic, because the normal fan thinks that way. They don't take into account that our two best receivers weren't playing, or the fact that they are running only 5% of the playbook on both sides of the ball. Let alone that half the game is played by guys who won't even make their respective teams

After reading this, I feel a lot better.

I'm first to tell you, I got into football last season and never followed the off season or pre-season until this year. Use to be into Soccer, so bare with me, I'm kinda dumb when it comes to football.

I get it now. I'm good. I'll be at Metlife when we murder the Texans that monday night!

Correct me if I am wrong but I think I have this right, Did'nt we go 4-0 in the preseason and then go 1-15 in the reg season. Just a thought. Go Jets

Agree on the blocking TE, disagree on WR. We were missing Holmes and Kerley. I would want to see offense with those 2 and Hill out there at the same time before calling for a WR.

After 2 weeks of practice with a new offense I'll take the performance for what it was....a learning experience. If we don't look any better by the 3rd pre-season game I will be worried.

The offense picked up right where they left off last season. I saw nothing positive other than Tebow moving the ball anytime he touched it.

We get it, you like Braylon Edwards. What do you want us to do about it? He is a Seahawk now. That's that.

Right you are! But the naysayers and those who criticize want to act like he didnt make a good catch and can still play the game. I like to see them proven wrong once again.

Maybe if Seattle cuts him we will get another chance at greatness.
