I'm sorry, that's just stupid. Hate on him or not, Boomer was a professional quarterback. Even LaDanian Tomlinson throws the ball better than Tebow.

He's the best running back on the roster, I'd rather see him there if you could talk him into a position switch (and fend off the Tebow maniacs). And at this point Cromartie's the best WR on the team lol.

Didn't realize what a selfish a-hole boomer was. Don't remember anything that great out of him in a Jet uniform. He should know better than to say crap like this at the beginning of training camp.

The amount of attention is frightening though, even worse than I feared. Hell, supposedly Tebow even is telling the Jets to ease up on the media blitz (via Colin Cowherd), and that he's getting more attention now than he did as the starter in Denver. He was getting a lot of attention last year, so that's pretty sobering but we all know the Jets want to milk the PR for all it's worth.

Oh Tebow. This is why the media loves him.

Which is why Boomer spews crap on WFAN and isn't making decisions in the NFL.

Boomer is just a bitter x-jock. He absolutely sucked on the Jets, sporting a 15-27 record as a starter. Heck, career wise he was 80-93. In SB XXIII, the game he always whines how the defense let him down, He was 11 of 25 for 144 yds and an interception. In fact, he did not lead the Bengals to a single TD. 3 Fgs and a kick return td...

I like the way he's being used at camp thus far. I said it when we acquired him: he is a versatile football player, not the answer at QB. We should not cut him after spending 3 picks to get him, he can contribute I think.

Actually he might be one of the best FBs in recent NFL history, but he is not the best HB on our current roster.

Was the smiling thumbs up not clear to you on my intent? Guess I'll have to also put sarcasm tags...in bold.

He's the second team QB, so if Sanchez goes down, he'll be the QB. But you're correct in that he wasn't brought on board to be "the" QB. Boomer saying he can't help the team in the role the Jets have defined for him is ridiculous.

Whenever I see someone with a recent join date or a low # of posts I just assume they didn't detect sarcasm. My bad. But, tbh, you're the first I've come across who happens to have a low post # yet did in fact sniff out the sarcasm. Well-played sir.

Overall, though, not sure why anyone's taking boomer seriously. His actual explanation, "I'll tell you why I would: it's just not in any way, shape or form benefiting this team. I just don't see how it benefits this team.", is just another way of saying that the only way to win in the NFL is pass pass pass.

    The man doesn't understand football.
