Yeah I can understand why they are so annoyed. 40+ years of falling short. Only 4 times they make AFC championship in that time. On the plus side of that 2 of those were in the last 3 years. But yeah, I saw my darksider cashier buddy at the store today. I decided to pick up the Jets camp confidential newspaper they had and he's like "Don't waste your time. I've been watching these guys since the beginning. They'll find a way to screw it up." I mentioned that they've done decently in the last few years under Rex, and he said he'd believe it when they won a superbowl. So he's a super bowl or bust guy, just like 69. Heck, maybe it is 69. I feel where they're coming from, but it's still no reason to ignore the recent success of the Jets. Watching them fail for so long, something has to stand out about making back to back AFC championship games. The Jets are still very much in the hunt.
I respect your opinion, however, I have to disagree. In 2012 we had the 5th ranked defense, and I think everyone can agree, it wasn't as tight as we expected. In 2012 we had a run stopping strong safety that couldn't cover anybody, and a free safety that was undersized who's heart greatly outweighted his talent. We have greatly bolstered that part of our secondary. We have our Defensive line returning, and we will see a stronger, bigger, and more athletic NT in Kenrick Ellis. Ellis will be able to push the pile oppose to sustaining the line as Pouha did. We greatly improved our DE position in the draft, as we have a prospect that can make an immediate impact. We also have more quality depth than we have ever had. We have our entire linebacking corp returning, including an above average run stopper in Thomas. In addition, we drafted a natural born leader in Davis who will have the ability to learn behind Harris. I forgot to mention that our cornerbacks are pretty good to. Our offense went to 2 straight AFC championship games on the back of our running game. I heard somewhere that the Sparano, and Ryan want to run the ball. The only arguement I can see to counter this is the play of our offensive line last year. I agree this is a question mark, and if I had to make an opinion on our line, I would say they will be improved this year. The approach of being a run first team will help in itself. Sanchez finally has someone to push him, and he has already shown that he wants to keep his position with the strength, and weight he added in the offseason. We drafted a #2 WR that fits our scheme to a tee. His role in college was to block. Holmes will remain the go to guy, and Sanchez won't have to worry about making sure he spreads the ball around to keep the piece. Keller could have a huge year off of playaction alone. So I would challange you to make a case for us have a worse year than last year?
I think you might want to re-evaluate. Each of your "for sures" have a great to elite QB other than the Ravens. The Ravens have an aging defense, and 1 player that can't decide if he wants to play or not. They have an elite RB, I agree. The steelers also have a defense that is a little long in the tooth. They have a QB that could break on any given play. I would agree that the Texans and Chargers have a more talented roster, but pound for pound we could play with them. I love when people say the Pats have a talented team. They score alot of points because of a future hall of fame QB. Take Brady out, and where are they at?
They have Ryan "meth head" Mallet, Danny Woodhead, Wes "Snake Shoes" Welker Brandon Lloyd, and dumb and dumber Gronk and Hernandez with a defense that is pretty sub par and only turns it on late in the season
You're just like every other person who enjoys wallowing in their own negativity - you want everyone else to come down to your level and wallow in it with you. My guess is that a Jets SB win would actually be your worst nightmare - it would destroy your whole schtick and you would have nothing left to moan about.
Im so sick of dark siders who ring the rag as tight as they can until one drop of negative water drips out. Over and over again. No matter how good something is, they can't wait to spin a negative web around it. Fuck all of you. I ask the mods to PLEASE BAN FOR LIFE all dark siders the moment we win the ring. You won't be welcome here any more.
I'd put the Ravens and Patriots ahead of us for certain. Everyone else has at least as many question marks as we do, particularly if it's true that Ben Roethlisberger has a torn rotator cuff a.k.a. Penningtonitis.
I truly believe we can go 13-3 this year and deep in to the playoffs, but if we don't the only change you will see is Sanchez traded or cut and a RB or RT drafted in the first round. Go Jets. Start the MFing Bus already!
Sorry U still do not get it we have had ZERO success up to now since 01/12/69 since we have not won a SB during that entire period which makes losers each & every year. NO EXCEPTIONS
Ah sorry U must have missed all my posts as to why I think we think we will be a non PO team this year so either look them up as I do choose to repeat myself again. Remember my credo is you either win the SB or U are a loser. From what you posted for sure U did not analyze the team with your head & not your heart
U have not the slightest idea what it feels like to be a fan of the FB WORLD CHAMPIONS. None whatsoever so you have zero experience in what it is like. The FACTs are we have won nothing since 01/12/69 & U can do the math to see how long is it to this day. I would suggest from now on you just do not open my posts or threads if they anger you so much Oh yes IMHO there is NO WAY I will repeat this for U NO WAY that the NYJ will be SB Champions at the end of this season so U & everybody else who is deluding themselves they will be should go find something else to become interested in besides the NYJs : You should also begin googling NOW to find where U find your supply of anti depression pills to purchase when this season terminates
The superbowl or bust mentality is fucking annoying. Getting to the playoffs is the first and most important goal...once in the tournament anything can happen. Just look at the lame dick giants.
Sorry to say U are totally deluding yourself IMHO. You win in the NFL with talent not anything else & the NYJs are quite removed in that department IMHO. The only good layers they have have are Revis & Mangold. All others are average to way below average including Santonio who could got not even get open so MS could get him the rock
