Media loves the Jets. Big market, big mouths, big names. You guys give ESPN Sports Center 5 easy segments a day.

Why don't the Giants and Pats get more offseason exposure, then? Giants just won the SB and are located in the same market as the Jets. Patriots are in a somewhat-smaller butstill major sports market (which incidentally is where ESPN happens to be located) and feature the best QB-HC tandem of this generation.

Both of those teams have big names and big markets, yet nobody in the media is ripping on them or sensationalizing every little thing those organizations do.

The NEW YORK Jets are representing one of the biggest / most popular cities in this country, you could even say the world. It's considered one of the many sports capitals of the nation... Not to mention we're basically competing with another team who plays in our same domain. The Jets will always give the media something to talk about.... you can thank Namath for that too it was his trademark

I like to think of the media as a 2nd grader with a crush.

Impartial third party observers love well managed franchises such as the Patriots and Giants.

Neither NY Jets, nor Knicks for that matter, fits the bill and therefore it is open season for media. Media would let go if jets slowly boringly build trough the draft with a solid defence and a run game, instead of Toon, short stop solutions burress/mason, trading up, tebow, cromartie as WR, coples as 3rd down lineman etc etc etc. Too many question marks for media to understand and buy into.

The Media loves the Jets but love when the Jets fail. They show the Jets so much, they start to get their viewers to dislike them. Then they start churning out biased or negative articles not based in reality, or take quotes out of context, or make up things on flimsy reasoning, then smile in glee when the Jets fail (rooting for it) as these people that dislike the Jets flood their sites and comment on the stories and refresh pages and read and read in the downfall of a team that their dislike was created for by the site they are reading the articles on. Pretty good strategy.
