It takes charachter to root for a team you know is a loser. Any A-hole can root for a winner. You want proof go to the Jets Pats game in NE.
I usually expect the team to find a way to screw up a good season but I am optimistic that we can at least claw our way into the playoffs in the ugliest fashion possible.
Dude. While I think Champ's posts suck because he is the ultimate darksider and has no faith in this team, the guy deserves a little respect. He was watching the team from day one so he's been following this team for a lot longer than either of us have been alive and I'm sure after 40+ years of nothing to show for except a handful of AFCE titles, I'm sure he's tired of watching a loser. However, I've been putting up with this shit since the mid 80's and I want a fucking championship already. While my fan-dom will never waiver, I've been putting in the work since I realized what the fuck football was. That being said, this is probably the best decade this team has had in it's entire history, barring 1 SB win. So I'm enjoying this era of the Jets (since 1997) and I have written my letters to ownership as a former season ticket holder, that I expect RR to be coaching here for a long time. Win lose or draw, Rex has made this team relevant for the first time in forever so I'll take it.
U have to understand the money part of it. Most PSL owners will be in a total uproar having to pay what they paid for the PSLs & tix cost WJ & no SB will give WJ no choice but axe them. Look at his options if they have a losing record again. Reup RR after 2 non POs & certainly NO SB wins season. not likely IMHO. Same goes for MT. Sanchez will just play himself onto the bench
EVERY post is based on my credo SB or BUST! NOTHING else matters. It time for every NYJ fan to adopt that credo IMHO
Theres a diff between expecting to the win the SB every year and never posting a positive idea based off of a 1 drop off season before even seeing a pre season game
If like me you actually assessed the team with your head & not your heart & if U R truly a FB mavin U to would come to the same conclusions that I did
Actually i think its the fact that i use my head and my knowledge of this game, and experience that i can understand the diff between a team who doesnt have the talent and a team who had a bad year because of a lockeroom enviroment. So rather then write the team off im going to wait and see what happens because any struggles this team may have will be a mental problem and not a lack of talent
The Jets don't have the talent right now. They're about the 7th or 8th most talented roster in the AFC behind Pats, Steelers, Ravens, Texans and Chargers for sure. They're in the mix with teams like the Titans, Bengals, Broncos and Bills (!) after that.
I don't know about that. We always seem to own the Chargers, even last year with a weaker team. Steelers are going to have a down year. Texans are over rated. It all boils down to the line this year. Everything else is in place for success. Ideally I'd like to see Vlad in at LG and Slauson at RT, with Hunter as a backup. If Ducasse keeps working like he's been, that'll happen.
