He is here to get under your skin. He doesn't actually ruin anything. Every single person in the thread replying only to him is what ruins the conversation.

If everyone is so anti Bills fans I would suggest not replying to them. It's no fun talking to yourself.

Or you could simply put him on ignore. I think for the most part our "other" fans seem to be pretty good. We've gotten a few Phish fans over the years and 2 or 3 Pats fans that are legit posters. Not everybody wants to read the same homer nonsense about how great we are and the same goes for other fans. Personally I would never post at at Pats or Phish board but I do like some of the opinions expressed by a certain few non Jet fans.

I don't see much wrong with what anyone is saying in the thread. Has there been some stuff said to annoy a Jets fan? Yes.

Do we allow Jets fans to take shots at the other teams? Obviously.

Either take it as friendly banter or get off the internet for awhile. It isn't worth that much emotion.

The thing is, most of us do like to hear more positive, 'homerish' commentary than the opposite. Why would I come to my favorite team's message board only to hear a whole bunch of negativity about how much the team sucks?

Do you have the slightest clue of what a troll is? He's not deliberately provoking anyone and he's not off-topic.

I'd argue that he contributes more per 100 posts than you do per 1000, king of one-liners.

    ---

Are you guys really so sensitive that you can't handle an argument from a rival fan that doesn't portray us as a flawlessly run organization?

We used to have such a vibrant presence of other teams' fans here, but everyone gets so damn hung up about being disagreed with.

Some of the Bills and Pats guys are OK, but how anybody can defend a loser like PatsFanTX who trolls on not one, but TWO, Jets boards is beyond me.

This is why I post here. I really trust opposing teams fan's perspective more than a Phins fan's for the most part. Finheaven is full of 2 extremes: ultra homer or debbie downer. I can't take that shit. Plus the site is poorly moderated and there are typically at least 5 threads on the same thing

Who do we allow to come and in just shout every which way that the team sucks?

I think the opinions of outsiders to let some hot air out of the forum every once in a while is refreshing. Plus I approve of anybody that can give me a good argument.

And come on, we might not be able to say much to the Massholes, but Fish and Jill fans telling us our team sucks is just entertaining.

There isn't a whole lot of negativity, some of it is brutally honest. The reality is we're not the #1 team in our division and we won't be until the front office decides to build a real offensive line. We've got the best center in the game and a great LT yet they have surrounded them with undrafted FA's, a late pick and a project. Moore had a great season last year but he is a year older and is on the downside of his career. Maybe instead of throwing picks at RB's every year we could start to rebuild that OL. Neglecting it led to disaster last year and unless this Tebow gamble is a homerun we're not a playoff team with this OL.

 We drafted Slauson in 09 and Ducasse in 10 to compete for Faneca's job when he left. We didn't just replace Woody with a random guy on the team. Woody got hurt in the playoffs and Hunter filled in for him and did an excellent job. This is why we gave him the spot. Catt don't bother responding, you'll be on the ignore list.

Well here are some positive thoughts from a "troll".

The Pats didn't pick up Brian Waters until 5 days before the season opener. Not only did he become a first team All Pro, He was the ONLY Pats starting OLman who didn't miss at least 2 games. So there IS a possibility that the Jets can pick up someone late in the preseason who can help solidify their OL.

The Pats won their first superbowl with a rookie LT and a 2nd year RT who had never started a game before that 2001 season. So you don't necessarily have to have "name" OLmen to succeed

Last season the Pats OL lost 32 starter games to injuries yet they made it to the superbowl and had the 3rd best overall offense in the league. So having guys injured doesn't necessarily mean that your offense will become ineffective.

You can't have all pros at every offensive position. The Jets have the best C in the league. They have a good LT, who had a just had a bad year Its only an issue if it becomes a trend and not a hiccup. Moore has been better than average and Slauson been adequate. Hunter is below average, but NOT as horrible as he has been made out to be, and most NFL OL's have a "Wayne Hunter" starting for them.

I think fans forget sometimes that it's less about the individual parts and more about how that OL plays as a unit that is critical to the success of the group. If one guy isn't in lock step the group he can cause another guy to look real bad. I think the key to the consistent success of the Pats OL over the years has been the coaching. Regardless of the individual talent they trot out from game to game, the fact the OL has by and large been a cohesive unit allows them to better support weaker individual players. JMHO

HOF qb's tend to make everyone around them, including the o-line look better.

There is something to be said for that, Long Time. But on the other hand, good OL's have a great deal to do in making HOF QB's

The Jets OL in 2009 had a lot to do with the success Mark Sanchez had that year. And to a slightly lesser extent in 2010 as well. So while Sanchez improved on almost all of his numbers in 2011, the overall team performance declined because the OL had a bad year. Fergeson was just average at best, Hunter's problems have been well documented, Mangold was hampered with injuries. and neither of the guards stood out. It only goes to show that when you DON'T have a HOF QB, you'd better have an outstanding OL

I think your both right, obviously you need a great QB but if you watch Manning the guy has an amazingly quick release. He never gets hit. I think that fraction of a second he releases quicker then most everybody else has made an average OL look amazing but in the case of Brady I do think the Pats have drafted quite well over the years. Early on I think Brady's success had a lot to do with them but as he has turned into an all time great he certainly makes the OL look amazing. FTR Matt Cassell looked pretty good behind that OL too.

Let's face it though, that first season Brady was far from a finished product. He had some memorable moments (Chargers game comes to mind), but they won because the D kept them in every game and the OLine and Antwan smith ran the ball down teams throats in the 3rd an 4th quarter when they got ahead.

I think it has a lot to do with coaching. Dante Scarnecchia just seems to get the most out of his OL, whether its the stars or journeymen out there.

The Jets have a new OLine coach and OC, so maybe they'll have some affect.
