    Ok. Here's my beef:

I just don't understand the hate on this kid Greene. Fuck YPC. Ok? You know NOTHING. Ok? NOTHING.

So Greene doesn't get a lot of big runs. WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK? Do you even know why run game is paramount to success? That is because consistent running attack kills defensive leveraging points.

Then what are defensive leveraging points? The easiest one you can identify is 3rd and a mile. From this, you can guess that, based upon the strength of run attack, anything above 2nd and 7 becomes the defensive leveraging point. (For instance. I am just giving you easiest ones to identify.)

Now, we have Shonn Greene, who is averaging some 4 yards a pop. Do you know what's more important though? His production does not show a lot of variances. That is, he was stuffed behind the line only 16 times last season, even though he didn't break out a long one that much either. Thus, consequently, you can basically "expect" 2nd and 5 or 6 (or 7 at worst) if you hand the ball off to Greene on 1st and 10, and plan accordingly on offense; knowing you can rely on the possibility of the outcome.

So why is that a bad thing? With a bit more of consistency on the passing attack, a back like that could mean the world's difference in today's NFL, which is anything but consistent.

I dont see it as a hate for Greene I see it as acquiring a RB that will compliment Greene so that Greene stays fresh and healthy and has a monster year.

At the end of the day, yards are yards.

Why is 1000 yards still spoken about around here as the bell weather measuring stick? It's 62 yards a game. Tebow probably did that most of the time. We need a feature back if we are going to run most of the time and neither Greene or McKnight is that and I don't want Benson either.

We will see how long that run first game planning actually lasts.

    So, enlighten me here, Don.

What is your definition of that Feature Back?

Don isnt as dumb as you think

21 halfbacks had over 900 yards last year.

Ben Tate was a backup and had 924 rushing yards

Demarco Murray was one of the better HBs in the league last year and only had 897 yards

As were McFadden and Jonathon Stewart (614, 761)

Having 1000 + yards now a days is just a testament to how many caries you got.

If you wanna see how good a back is you gotta look at other things his blocking, ypc, fumbles/carry, receptions etc.

Rex has already said Greene is the featured back. I don't think we need Benson. Greene is capable and has been improving each year here. I think he'll definitely be top 10 in rushing yards this year. Don't forget Greene had 1000 yards despite missing almost the entire Broncos game and having low carries in several others. This year with him being utilized on a more consistent basis, he'll put up good numbers. I like Shonn Greene and think we'll be just fine with him.

If Benson is still available when Shonn gets bruised ribs for the umpteenth time then I'm sure we'll sign him. As of now, I don't think we need him.

NO THANKS ... always thought this guy sucked. Not interested in a 30 year old RB who averaged less than 4 ypc in 4 of the last 5 years. I already know what this guy is ... less than mediocre. I'll take my chances with the younger guys ... McKnight, Powell and Ganaway.

One is a prediction on what WILL happen.

The other would be a bold face lie on what DID happen.

I hope you see the difference

I dont think Rex is a liar

    In Rex I trust.

But you wanna bet the minute something goes wrong here at the RB position Cedric Benson will be a NYJET if hes still available.

What about this: "[Schotty has] got everything it takes to be a successful head coach in this league... I think it starts with pedigree, but more importantly, here is a guy that's been successful." ... that happened like a week before Schotty was fired. Obviously this is not a direct lie but he was manipulating his words and said something that (IMHO) he didn't really believe.

There are better examples, too, of Rex saying one day that a certain player is "great" and that he expects "big things" from them (Tanny does this too) -- That "great" player is fired or traded a week later. Happened to T. Jones, for example.

Rex isn't a liar but he does know how to play the game of football politics.

We already know what Greene can do. I want to see Rex use McKnight,Powell and Ganaway hard and heavy in the pre-season.

Schotty is only 38, and id be willing to bet money he WILL be a head coach someday.

It might not be for another 5, 10, 15 years but hes young. Im sure it will happen.

In Rex's defense he said Schotty has everything he needs to be a successful head coach, not offensive coordinator.
