I really want to see what Kerley and Hill can do. If they can emerge as reliable targets for the Sanchize, it only makes us even better. On defense, I think guys like Wilkerson, Maybin and Coples will be beasts and QB Killers.
Mayhem. Honestly, he is the missing piece to our defense. Supposing Landry is healthy (big if) then Mayhem is the key. The one piece we are missing to a truly elite defense, is a top pass rusher. Maybins first week of practice shows he has that kind of potential. If he can do that for an entire season, the Jets defense is going to challenge for some records.
Too many to list, to be honest. I'd have to pick like one per position almost but a shortlist would be Sanchez (as we live and die by him), Hill and Coples.
Hill for sure...even as a rookie I just have this feeling we will see some ridiculous highlight bomb TDs.
I was hoping for Kerley to have a breakout year but i am not liking what i am hearing out of training camp so far.Still early though.
Mine have to be between Shonn Greene and Coples. Coples, simply because of the high expectations placed upon him as a first round draft. I think he's going to do fine, but I'm excited to see any real dominance in his position, to see if he's a really able to exceed expectations. For my expectations, I expect at least the same level of play from Wilkerson, especially because he was afforded an off season that Wilkerson was denied. I think Wilkerson played pretty good last year and if we can at least get that level of play out of him, I think our front line will be that much better. I'm more excited to see him surpass my expectations though, and how much he will do so, if at all. For Shonn Greene, I have confidence in Greene to actually be a good running back. I know many do not share my confidence in him, but I still do regardless. I've seen him make good plays and last year, he was still capable of a 1000+ yd season with a bad O-line, so if WFH ever gets replaced, I'm looking forward to what he can achieve.
I agree. His biggest issue is lack of experience, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not good yet. He doesn't have a lot of experience with the route tree, but he has a lot of the other intangibles down for WRs. Demaryius Thomas made a pretty instant impact if I recall. Not a huge one, but he made a few big plays as a rookie before stepping up late last season as a force. His biggest issue is health. Let's hope Hill stays healthy.
obvious answers are coples, hill sanchez the not so popular are powellon o and demario davis on d. i am really pulling for powell to be the third horse in the stable.i think he could be the 2009 s.g. who plays some in the regular season and explodes in the playoffs when everyone else is a little tired and banged up. davis developing will go along way to helping to be more flexibility in next years draft. 3-4 ilb 4-3 olb he can really fit in with rex's schemes
Everyone that doesn't wear the number 15 nah but definitely Hill, Coples, Wilk, Landry, Sanchez and McKnight.
I'm hoping that everyone improves and does better than they did last year. With that, I'm hoping that some of the newcomers make a huge impact. Specifically, Landry at safety as he is a complete beast. Also hoping that both Hill and Jordan White make some big contributions.
I'm really interested to see Hill, even though I don't think he'll have a huge year. First year receivers rarely do. I'm most excited to see Wilkerson take the field. I'm hoping for big things from him this season. And, as always, I'm looking forward to a master craftsman (Revis) perform his craft better than anyone in the game.
I'm excited about our defense, especially up front. There are countless looks we can throw out there and we should be able to generate a ton of pressure.
I cannot wait to see Stephen Hill highlight catches this season. Defensively, Maybin is exciting to watch and look forward to watching his play this season.
