The media may actually make us a better team, well their stupidity might. With all the focus and coverage on the Sanchez-Tebow "affair" and Holmes "drama" it really leaves the rest of our premeir team completely unnoticed and allows alot of what we plan to do to completely fly under the mother fucking radar!! Alot of ppl like Brian Billick and Rich Eisen keep saying the Tebow media attention will kill our team BUT this may actually make us better and allow us to surprise EVERYONE!! Be ready NFL!
^Somebody has too much time on their hands. :breakdance: I would love to partake in whatever you smoke young man. What does the media focusing on the QBs and Holmes have to with anything? The idea that asshole sportswriters are actually helping the Jets by writing negative stuff about some of the players is beyond reaching... It's what other teams focus on. And I'm sure the Pats and Bills are way more focused on the Jets defense than what Cimini and others write about the Jets.
The Giants thank the Jets more than anything because now they're always under the radar. The excessive coverage could work 1 of 3 ways. The coverage could seep into the locker room and divide the team on multiple levels. Or it could help everyone else focus on their business more while everyone watches Tim and Mark. Or it could mean nothing. I bank on the 3rd option.
Maybe somebody could just let the Jets HC and players know that they don't have to stick their feet in their mouths every time they open them ... ... I mean, Ryan doesn't have to say, "I think I'm the greatest defensive coach" and Cromartie doesn't have to say, "I'm the second best WR on the Jets". That's NOT on the media. That's on the Jets themselves. Sorry.
Yet the only people who seem to give a shit are the media and other fans. So maybe they can go all fuck themselves? Yeah. I'll take that option.
He's not wrong on his points. I mean that's not the only way it works, the media will also make up stories that aren't there, over hype the smallest thing into a major issue, etc. But they do shoot themselves in the foot a lot.
a) That isn't an accurate or complete quote of what the Joy of Rex said; and b) wtf cares what cro thinks? life is a party on planet cro.
Having driven to Charlotte, listening briefly to sports radio down here, and both Jon Beason and Ryan Kalil say the Panthers will win the Super Bowl. Kalil took out a full page ad in the paper. Imagine if Rex or a Jet player did that... Rex is super confident in himself. He says things sometimes that, taken out of context, sound bad. It's fun having him as coach. Occasionally, I wish he would shut up, but none of these things he says really matters. Who cares if he says he's the best defensive coach in the NFL, how does that affect anything?
I'm under the impression these are grown ass men and professional athletes. Part of the job is being under constant media and public scrutiny. Which also means ignoring it. I don't think they should censor themselves because of how other teams, fans, or the media will portray it, view it or how they'll react.. Who gives a shit, fuck them. If Rex Ryan thinks he's the best defensive coach in the league? then who really gives a shit? I certainly don't. I don't think comments like these are getting in the way of him coaching football. This is another thing; We didn't hear about this -- and even if I did, I still wouldn't care. I'm not up in arms going OMGWTFBBQ!!1!. The guy thinks he's going to win the championship, then let him think about this. It's retarded professoinal athletes have to act like a god damn politician nowadays to avoid controversy. Watching Sanchez's interviews are fucking boring as hell, because he's so political correct about everything, and he rarely says anything that I think he actually believes. I'd rather an athlete or coach just be able to talk normally without them being crucified for it.
I said the same thing about a month ago. I don't think it's completely absurd, Rex has definitely used the media in the past. And is reportedly receiving some mentoring from a previous head coach ( parcells ) who was known to use the media to benefit the team. Or how about Robert Krafts really creepy "audition" with his 23 year old gf??? Nobody cares what this pedophile cradle robber does cause he has 3 rings???
I'm not a football genius by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't think the Patriots base their game plan on stories written by the New York Post and ESPN. The only people overlooking the Jets are the people that don't matter. It comes down to what happens on the field.
Have you seen the creepy audition tape thats all over the net??? I dont care if hes pulling a Hefner but the vid is weird
well by law hes not pedophile but its pretty weird but when you think of the age difference its weird. Theres a 42 year difference. I mean 5-15 years whatever but 42???? Thats weird
