I constantly hear guys like Francessa keep bragging how great the Giants are doing and how they sell out and have the greatest dedicated fans, while the Jets have the hard time selling tickets and cant sell them and how they have so much trouble getting Jets fans to go to the game.

Personally, IDC how much the Jets make, as long as they are playing games on Sunday, im happy for the business they make. But people, especially Francessa and others take shots at the Jets and the fans that they dont show up for the team.

Thats the 2011 attendance straight from ESPN

    Link: http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance

Next is the Jets have the HIGHEST average ticket price throught the entire NFL, the Jets average ticket price for 2011 is $120.85 while the Giants average ticket price is $111.69

    Link: http://content.usatoday.com/communi...pensive-ticket-in-nfl-team-marketing-report/1

Using the numbers you get this:

Giants: 635,800 (overall tickets sold)* $111.69 (average price)= $71, 012 ,502 profit from ticket sales

Jets: 631,888 (overall tickets sold) * $120.85 (average price)= $76,363,664 profit from ticket sales

Cowboys: 684,090 (overall tickets sold) * $110.20 (average price)= $75,386,718 profit from ticket sales

Bringing in Tebow was a football move, not a move to sell tickets.

*I also added the Dallas Cowboys just show the Jets are the #1 team from ticket sales profit. But yeah our fans suck and the Giants fans are the greatest right?

Interesting although Jets rank 21st if you go by percentage. How does Dallas sell 106% of their tickets? I don't see how that figure works. They are talking about percentage of tickets sold, right? Did they sell a bunch of seats twice because people no showed or what?

Dallas has SRO seats that I guess do not count as "seats" It's their Party Deck area.

Although the Jets make the most money from ticket sales in the league, it is safe to assume that Woody wants more. That's how billionaires think.

Ticket sales are still going to spike next year.

Yup If we had $75M we'd head out to the nearest strip club. Woody? He calls an emergency board mtg to find out how he can get to $80M asap.

When it comes to Cowboys Stadium you can never sell too few seats, even if you don't have any left. Just look at what happened when Dallas hosted the SB last year.

There's no reason Jets tickets should be more than Giants tickets. Giants are coming off a superbowl season, and Jets last year ended in disappointment. That's highway robbery. There's a reason live games are a rare event for me.

Neither Pittsburgh or Greenbay sold out despite coming off of Super Bowl appearances. Its funny how we hear that Greenbay has the greatest fans yet these numbers seem to prove that they don't really....

Indy did well it looks like, but I dont think they realized Manning would be gone. I hear they lost like 5,000 season ticket holders or some big number...

Well they're selling $50 upper deck season tickets this year, face value sales can't be that great. And as much as I can't stand Francesa I think he points out the ticket stuff as an anti-PSL bash as much as anything, since the Giants didn't have PSL's in the upper deck iirc while the Jets tried to hawk them all over the building.

This is why there are so many empty seats in the best sections of the stadium - the only people that can afford them are corporate executives who don't give a shit about the game and either don't show up or only stay for part of the game - it's really a shame. I'll be lucky if I can afford to go to one or two games this year up in the nosebleeds - definitely one of the biggest downsides of the NFL. Pretty shitty to learn that we pay more than any other fans in the league too.

From reading the prices of the tickets between Giants, Jets, and Cowboys, I do notice that Jets sold less tickets than Giants but at a higher price than the Giants. That's the reason why slightly lesser fans have attended games and preferred to stay home.

As for Francesca, he still think that the Jets are stuck in 1996, with a 1-15 record, and Rich Kottie as head coach.

Looks like those are only if you buy season tickets.

You HAVE to buy season tickets if you want to buy them straight from the Jets.

Check stubhub.com though, because most games you can get in the building for around 50 bucks.

Pitts stadium is smaller that's why they are low. They sell out every game but they built a smaller stadium. It's open on one end and the other end doesn't have seats in the corners
