http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8...s-running-back-maurice-jones-drew-report-camp Isn't Tebow loved in Jacksonville?
im surprised that there isn't a "trade for this beast thread." it makes perfect sense though, he would be amazing in our GnP offense.
When Revis was considering holding out, Adam Schein threw it out there for the discussion if Jet fans would consider: Revis for Jones-Drew Not that it would happen, but interesting
straight up orwith the jags next 2 1st rounders? because straight up its a horrible deal because MJD is a RB with tons of tread on his tires. He probably has 2 maybe 3 years left of top production, which is why the Jags don't want to pay him, and why he wants to get paid right now. Revis on the other hand has at least 4 years left of top production and is already the best defensive player in the NFL (as voted by his peers). Not even worth considering in my opinion, and thats with 2 Jags first rounders tossed in.
i would try to package a deal around tebow. tebow and a first rounder for MJD. in a football sense that would be a great deal. however im not sure if we can trade tebow
MJD would make the Jets planned G&P offense work. It's that simple. The Jet's defense is strong but it's not the thing that's going to win a Super Bowl for the Jets. The thing that will win a Super Bowl is when it all comes together and they're hard to deal with on both sides of the ball. I'd trade Tebow and a 2nd for MJD in a heartbeat. The problem is the Jaguars aren't stupid.
Is MJD on the trading block now? https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/238036145718579200 Get it done Tanny.
If the Jets could obtain MJD in a trade, that would almost immediately change the entire picture in the AFCE. The Jets' offense would basically be built around him and that would make everyone else more effective too. And it would be the best thing to ever happen to Mark Sanchez. It also does make sense, given the Tebow factor. Question is, how much more would it take than just him? The Jags will have more leverage there, since they're at minimum two more seasons from having any chance of being any good, and can demand a king's ransom for him from any prospective trade partners. They can afford to just let him sit. This is the NFL, players don't have a lot of leverage. Maybe Tebow, Shonn Greene, and a 1st round pick with a later round tossed in?
I agree with you. MJD would be an excellent fit for the Jets. He would have a HUGE impact on the Jets Offense and would really make them a top notch team. I don't think the Tebow thing is realistic though. JAX wasn't all that interested for him, if they were they'd blown the door down with Denver. Tebow's not gotta sweaten the pot any in a trade with them.
Given the short shelf life for running backs these days though, he's probably getting close to the end of it.............
