Actually, he also has the reporting clause of 1 million dollars he collects today just for showing up. There is nothing saying that he won't leave tomorrow with that big fat wad still in his pocket. I have to believe though that he is smarter than that; screwing the team after collecting that bonus would turn everybody against him big time. Here's hoping for another great season by Revis while Mr. T and Revis' slimebag reps start negotiations in the background...

ESPN is still pushing hard for Revis to demand more money, its seriously time for them to layoff...

Looking at twitter pics of players arriving at Cortland. Everyone's carrying luggage, except for Revis who only has a sack/backpack slung over his shoulder.

Basically how I feel, we should let him play this year and look to trade him or he'll be handcuffing the Jets next year. He's a great player but he's not worth tearing the team apart over.

He said he would and people still we're acting as if he were already holding out.

Right. He and his agents were sitting around contemplating holding out until 3 days ago when they suddenly realized there was a holdout clause.

Feinsod: Eh, Schwartz, I think we have a problem with this holdout plan.
Schwartz: Don't worry about it, we already have the emergency fund set to start paying.
Feinsod: No, a bigger problem. Look at this small print in the contract we signed.
Schwartz: WHAT? WE signed THAT? Son of a bitch, there goes that whole plan. Better call Cimi ... I mean Revis and tell him why he has to report to camp.

The D would definitely take a huge hit without Revis. Even if you want to start Wilson, which to me is a bad idea, who then is the third CB?

    Nobody.

That's a red herring. It is not impossible to pay Revis what he's worth and still have a competitive team. Obviously.

It occurred to me this morning, reading the paper about Revis, is what separates me and I would guess those who don't hate on Revis from those who want to pretend that the Jets cannot possibly keep Revis on the team is those people want to pretend they are the kind of fan who is a hard nosed operations guy. It's all about the roster cap! That sort of thing.

But Revis is the best player on the team. Watching the games, it is literally a pleasure to watch him play. When you see an oppoent actually try and go after him, and they fail nineteen times out of twenty, well it gets my attention. It's often one of the most exciting moments in the games. Why would we want to give that up?

Did Chicago Bulls fans talk about having to get rid of Michael Jordan, because they felt his salary could have been better spread out on others? Of course not. You can think of numerous analogies like that. What is it with the Revis haters here?

I thought it was so stupid people actually bought into the hold out propoganda the NY media wanted us to buy into anyways. All because they didn't have something to write about so they made something up.

Propaganda? Huh? Revis himself said he wasn't sure if he was going to report until a few days ago...

“It was close (to) happening . . . for me holding out,” Revis said shortly after his arrival at Cortland.

Revis made his decision “a couple days ago” after “numerous meetings through OTAs” with his agents.

There is still a very real chance of Revis holding out. If he is still here after a week or so, we will be OK, but because of bonuses and stuff NYJETSCAP showed that a holdout would likely start on the 2nd or 3rd day of camp.

You must be reading some "under-ground anti Tanny propoganda" out of the Revis camp with a statment like this. Does the NY media blow things up just for a story, sure they do, this is not one of thoes times. Revis is not happy with the contract HE SIGNED; he also had no problem taking the 32.5 Million over the 1st two years either... Seems silly that we are still having this conversation as Revis sure as hell would not be in Cortland if the "hold-out" clause was not in his deal.
