No trade is final until the players pass their physical. The Murphy trade would be negated.

How many tries does he have to pass the physical? And was it just him being out of shape like McKnight in his rookie year or does it deal with his injuries..?

I believe the Panthers sent their own conditional 7th rounder to the Raiders. You can't really trade a conditional pick.

Edit: I guess someone else pointed this out.

Plus, from most reports, he's not the most diligent rehabber out there.

actually, i see a major red flag in Otah's way, whether he passes physical or not.

it's up in his head: he is not the most diligent player nor is he hard-nosed run blocker. Carolina brass thinks he is soft; a major no-no for any OL. WFH may suck, but he is not soft. If this incrimination by Carolina is actually true, then I don't think anybody with half sanity should go after this kid.

Hell. Kris Jenkins was not soft either.

His best asset is his run blocking.

S.I's take on our Right Tackle position battle, seems about right.

    3. Vlad Ducasse vs. Wayne Hunter vs. Jeff Otah (Jets RT)

More on this battle here. None of the choices are all that terrific, so it may come down to which guy is the least of three evils. An oft-injured Otah, if he can stay on the field, should have an edge over an overmatched Hunter and the disappointing Ducasse. If Otah can’t stay healthy, Hunter may be back in by default. The Jets need better play at RT, especially if southpaw Tim Tebow sees extended time.

    Projected winner: Otah
    Importance: 8

The obvious difference is that we already have a backup OT. We need to find a starter.

the kc guy would be a starter for us. he's what the tuna would have called a " hold-the-fort" guy. next year's draft would be the place to find a long-term starter.

he can take a physical as many times as he'd like I believe.

I also believe its a conditioning issue. If it was injury related the Jets wouldn't give him 7 days. A knee injury isn't going to resolve in 7 days, so if it was his knee I believe the trade would have been voided right then and there.

If Otah can't get into condition to pass a physical as an NFL player I want no part of him. With that said, I 100% believe he will pass one before the deadline.

He may well be in terms of skill set and physical dimension - but is he soft "mentally"? That was supposed to be why Panthers gave up on him.

What's worse than Mark Sanchez having to play with Wayne Hunter as his RT ? If ,,,,.,,,,,Tebow ever gets to play behind center,be it for one snap or a series Wayne Hunter will be guarding Tebows BLIND side,,,,,,,ugh
