Good interview, gotta love his honesty and dedication to the team...I think this will be the year he turns the corner.
Single season jets record 32 tds Single game record two passing/rushing tds Improved passing yards, passing tds, completion percentage, rushing tds, and passer rating. He also was playing probowl football until the last three weeks. 24 tds to only 11 ints heading into week 15. Did he play great? No. But there are signs of improvement. The guy is 25 years old with 4 rd playoff wins. Give the guy a fucking break you ignorant ass clowns. If Jeff otah stays healthy this season expect a very consistent year from mark.
It isn't necessarily optimism. It's more a matter of statistics. Growth has taken place every year. I am concerned about the coaching staff making poor decisions more than I am sanchez. I am NOT a fan of the tebow trade. If he is stictly used in short yardage and goalline situaions it could work, but it is hard to trust the coaching staff to stick to this plan.
Sanchez sucked last year. I hope as much as anyone he turns it around, but it is simple homerism to suggest there is much reason to expect a material improvement this year. Three years in the league and still in the bottom quarter of starting Qb's, down there with players who have even less time in the league and washed up has beens. Awful completion percentage and ypa. A turnover machine. Yeah, there's alot to base an EXPECTATION, a CERTAINTY, of improvement. Clowns indeed.
Geee I dunno. Maybe he's doing this funny thing called DEVELOPING. God, stop the blind hate for Sanchez, it's absurd. Improvements to the offense, receivers, oline and a new better system under Sparano mean zero in your book. LOL he holds the ball too long!!!!
I could as easily say stop the blind manlove for Sanchez, it's absurd. I don't hate him. I think he is so far not a good Qb. Check out this analysis from PFF: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/01/31/pressure-and-the-2011-quarterbacks/ Pressure and the 2011 Quarterbacks This analysis shows a number of different metrics indicating how NFL Qb's handle pressure. Aren't you Sanchez Fans always defending him based on the supposedly terrible pass protection the OL gave him? Well one metric shows that Sanchez is more than twice as likely to be sacked when pressured as Eli Manning, and rates 28th in teh league at that metric. He did beat out newbies like Ponder, Gabbert and a has been like Kolb. Completion percentage when pressured is another awful metric for Sanchez, as indicated: This isn’t something new for Sanchez who continues to struggle when pressured, taking a high percentage of sacks and completing just 36.4% of passes. Indeed if you look at our grading, there isn’t a worse QB in the league when pressured than the face of the Jets franchise. In fact in their overall metric, PFF rates Sanchez as the worst Qb in the league at handling pressure, coming in 34th: It’s been a tough offseason already for Sanchez, and we’re not about to make it any easier. We normalized our QB gradings this year, so the average mark for a QB in any situation is equal to a zero. For QBs under pressure the average score is closer to a -7.1, so finishing above that mark is encouraging if nothing else. Finishing at -25.1 is anything but encouraging, with Sanchez showcasing an inability to handle defenders coming at him I guess you think PFF has a blind hatred for Sanchez, too.
Statistics are useless without context. Context such as scheme and coaching. These variables are not equal. They would have to be for those statistics to represent a perfectly accurate picture. There is nothing to indicate the Jets should be ready to move on from Sanchize at this point.
Scheme??? Scheme??? WTF? And coaching - please explain what it was about the coaching that led Sanchez to have such an awful sack to pressures ratio? Man, you Sanchez Fans will go to any length to make excuses for him.
