I'll assume the scout is blind and thinks the NFL is "National Frankfurter League". Mark might have potential but Drew Brees actually performs at an elite level. To be honest, this picture is the closest Mark gets to Brees when it comes to level of play.
He got $8M as a signing bonus, but they also guaranteed his 2013 salary, which is also in the range of 8 million. If he's cut, they have to eat all of it. If he's traded, the new team picks up his guaranteed salary and they just have to deal with the prorated signing bonus.
that was my thinking. Jet cannot cut him and eat that money. Trade? sure, but if he's playing good you won't trade and if he sucks, no one is taking him and his guaranteed loot unless you pay for it. Hence, he's our QB for 2yrs minimum.
Sanchez: " Damn, I'd love to have a Super Bowl win, a Super Bowl MVP, Six Pro Bowls and Two NFL Player of the Year awards!" Brees: " Damn, I'd love to have Hilary Rhoda, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Kate Upton and Eva Longoria!"
take a look at the photo, you the blind one. mark's got the perfect stature, physique, physical dimensions to be an all time great qb. u can't argue that
including the part where he leaves to go to another team? and the dollfags have interest but get cold feet and sign... oh i dont know some other guy who ends up sucking worse than anyone could even imagine?
Now if he could only read a defense, feel pressure in the pocket, increase his football IQ, make better decisions, complete more passes, lower his INT's, throw the ball away instead of taking a sack, and make football a priority over getting his dick sucked by someone famous.. then, after those improvements, combined with his physical prowess.. imagine the posibilities.
If my memory serves me correctly, Sanchez is 6'2" and Brees is 6'0". Imagine Joe Flacco (6'6") or Brock Osweiler (6'7") in that picture...
Ftr no one said he could be cut after this year without there being any cost to doing so. And he could be on the roster and not be the starter - another possibility.
It's cheaper to keep him then cut him. But I doubt they are interested in having a backup QB account for 10% of next year's cap.
