Could be yet another solid mid-late round pick from the Jets. I've frequently seen people say the Jets don't do well in those rounds, but if you look at the facts they have a pretty good track record in the Tanny era for the picks they did make. http://www.thejetsblog.com/2012/07/17/schatz-kerley-a-top-25-prospect/
He was a first down machine last year once we got rid of Mason ( 19 of his 29 were for 1rst downs ). Had Kerley ( 29 314 ) been given a full 16 ( and an offseason ) his stats may have equaled or surpassed Holmes ( 51rec 654yd ), not to mention all he did on special teams. That definitely speaks more to the way defenses played us then how he stacks up agains holmes talent wise, but still he made big plays when they were on the field. Something not many JETS did last season.
I expect he will develop into a serious WR for the team. Let's not trade him away for some jackass with an attitude problem.
Kerley was the most positive development for the Jets last year. I hope he will keep it up. Nice that he got a mention in that article. He deserved it.
If Sparano is smart, he gets rid of all those gimmicky plays for Kerley and makes him a focal point of the Jets offense out of the slot. He looked good last year. Kerley gives the Jets something their other WR's can't, yards after the catch.
There were similar threads by Bills fans (not so much national media) about David Nelson after his rookie campaign, which was very similar production wise to Kerley. It was warranted, as Nelson did go on to have a solid sophomore campaign out of the slot. I can see similar results from Kerley, especially if Sanchez continues to work underneath the large majority of the time.
Any one know the other prospects on the list? I would just like to gage the group of players he’s ranked with and I dont have ESPN insider
I would say Tone gets them that too. Big focal point of his receiving game is YAC. It helps when you can establish the line, have time to throw deep routes, and have a QB not rush and a WR who can hang onto the ball (3 things the Jets didn't have last year and 1 thing Tone didn't) to open the underneath for Holmes and get YAC. One of friends not a Jets fan said Kerley is "annoying" because he always managed to make a catch, slip a tackle, get the first down. He can keep drives alive.

Seahawks released the other Mike Williams recently. They were pretty high on him year, I could definitely see baldin having a really good season.
The most important thing a WR needs to get YAC is an accurate throw. The QB has to be able to put the ball right where a receiver can catch it and turn up-field. Last year Sanchez wasn't capable of doing that with consistency, until that changes the YAC potential of the receivers will go unfulfilled.
Please. This Football Outsiders is just another Boston homer sports site. How is Ryan Mallett going to break out? If Brady goes down? Let's see Stevan Ridley play 4 games in row before he makes it a full season. Must admit --- Evan Royster impressed me in that Jet-Washington game last year. Looked like the first Penn St. RB who could actually run with the ball.
