Well said. Even the Toronto Bills fans have hope this year.

I just re-watched the breakdown of Sanchez by Jaws and I saw a lot of good things. His mistakes seem to come when he double clutches but attribute this again back to Schotty at least somewhat. Unless you you have a huge arm Jaws does not seem to like you which is why Palmer gets a pass for his dumb mistakes from a seasoned veteran.

Sanchez is primed for a big year to set a lot of big years up for the Jets. If Sanchez fails I agree with a previous poster the team gets ripped apart.

While just like for every team the prospects for the year after this will depend much on two factors, those being the development of younger players this year into next, and FO moves next off season, there is an overriding factor that will be huge for next season.

    Mark Sanchez.

If Sanchez has a year in 2012 showing real, not debatable, improvement, then he will solidify his position as starting Qb, will likely improve again in 13, and the Jets will not have to start over at Qb.

But if he fails, unless somehow McElroy gets in there and shows he should be the starter, the Jets will either have to start over at starting Qb in 13, or will have a controversy, and uncertainty.

Of course it could also go somewhere in the ambiguous middle.

its nearly impossible to judge SOS this early, but the afc north and the nfc south have a lot of good QBs on those teams

I know you don't want to hear it, but Tebow is getting in over McElroy. Sanchez is a huge key to the season, but if the defense is elite, this team can win with Tebow and a run-run-run gameplan.

The QB play will determine how far the team goes, but I think our defense is good enough to win with any QB.

I don't ever want McElroy to start. His physical tools are poor, he has one of the worst QB arms I've ever seen. As a backup, I trust him to manage a game (maybe not yet this year), but I would be stunned if McElroy is a longterm solution.

I don't talk about Tebow because if he does get in there, it will only be temporary. I am virtually certain he cannot succeed as an NFL Qb.

Ftr I have never said that I think McElroy IS a long term solution. There is some sliver of chance he might be. More than that Tebow will be, imo.

I like this team a lot. We're well rounded. We just need Mark Sanchez to assert himself and get through the season without doing stupid shit. A solid 10-6, 11-5 season, play at least in the divisional round to make sure everyone is fine, and we should be awesome the following year. Of course you never know if we can do something special this year but yeah, I like the group of guys.
