Congratulations to Curtis Martin, my second favorite Jet of all time. A class act and a tireless competitor. Who got it done. He deserved it without question.
he was the only threat on a mediocre team. So. other teams stacked the box on him. We all know how THAT worked out!for TEN YEARS STRAIGHT! No championship, No flashiness,NO drama, No painkillers... JUST FOOTBALL. God bless ya curtis.
^He was on some good teams under Parcells. The 2004 Jets weren't bad either. But yes, major kudos to Curtis Martin. Consumate professional, my favorite Jet of all time.
Well, then mine should come this week too. I am also receiving free tickets to the dinner. Not sure who is going with me yet. Might be my wife and son and/or Fried Beans Jones.
Best Jet back I ever saw, just wish he hadn't fumbled against Denver in the '98' AFC Championship Game.
I got my gold jacket dinner tickets yesterday. Should I go for the trifecta and attend the Cardinals-Saints game?
I have been to the Hall of Fame twice. I would love to attend an actual ceremony. Have an awesome time, and please post pics!!!!!!!!!
Received an email from the NFL today about the Hall of Fame. General Admission tickets are $15.00. Here is the link: http://www.profootballhof.com/enshr...er-15-general-admission-enshrinement-tickets/
congrats curtis in my era next to Wayne Chrebet two of the classiest Jets I've witnessed. Well deserved and very soft spoken. Unfortunately his knee is bone to bone, though I think it's inevitable I hope he can have some tissue transplant so he isn't in a wheel chair by the age of 60, especially since he didn't win anything. Poor guy should of won the year Vinny when down with an achilles week one after we lost to the Broncos the year before! Bad memories!
Read some comments from Curtis last week where he said he hated football and didn't want to come to the Jets except for Bill Parcells. That annoyed me a bit, but I always loved what Curtis brought to our team. Felt bad for him when we blew that playoff game in Pittsburgh, his hometown and his last good chance at a Super Bowl. Had we just given him the ball Brien has an easier kick.
I am so excited for tomorrow and so envious of you guys at the ceremony. Have a great time and represent us well guys, I'll be watching in the wee small hours over here.
Congrats to Curtis, "My favorite Martin". He was a class act through and through. He never lifted the Lombardi trophy, but he carried himself and played the game like a champion should. Curtis induction into the Hall of Fame proves it doesn't always have to be flashy and you don't have to talk about it, just get your job done on the field. Thank you Curtis for everything you have done for the New York Jets. Your exceptional professionalism, personal initiative and devotion to duty reflected great credit upon yourself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the New York Jets. #28
Fried Beans Jones (my father) is getting fuckin' ripped. He is talking about women's cabooses and making all kinds of off color jokes. Just stood next to Mawae. I will look to get a photo later. Trent Green and Dermontti Dawson are also here.
