Im hearing its happening by the end of the week, but at this point it is inevitable because Bynum has said he wont commit to resigning with the magic so neither Dwight or Bynum would resign with their teams. No chance AT ALL, 0, that LA swoops in. Nets are the only option, rockets are long gone, no one else would take Dwight for one year. It is inevitable now.
4th team involved now: The Clippers... Check out whats being tossed around from ESPN: According to sources the Nets would receive Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon and Earl Clark in the proposed deal. The Magic would get Brook Lopez, Luke Walton, Damion James, Shelden Williams, Armon Johnson and three first-round picks -- two from the Nets and a lottery protected first from the Clippers. The Cavs would get Kris Humphries, Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, a first round pick from the Nets and three million in cash. The Clippers would receive MarShon Brooks. Further hurdles exist in that Lopez, Humphries, James, Williams, Johnson and Gaines would all have to agree to sign-and-trades to move them. So complex...
Lol they're reporting it as almost done on the radio. These clownss never gt their hit straight. After all th lottery lossses nd the howard fiasco lasst yr. Ill beliee it when I see it
If this happens I'd say it's probably the craziest trade in history. That's what 5 sign and trades in 1 deal? Haha
If that happens I'm gonna give my bank account number to the next Nigerian Prince who has 10 million dollars he needs to hide.
Can I get your email just in case? I took an online course in becoming a nigerian prince so I could work from home.
The funny thing is all these radio staions. Specifically espn are already villifying Brooklyn and everyone involved for helping us build a. "Super team" thing is our roster now isn't that bad. Dwight makes the nets an instant contender but the lack of depth thzat will ressult from this needs to be noted. I've been in FL for a long time. Howard is one of my favorite plyers. He's been. Hero in orlando until he realized they're going nowhere. He's been here what 8 yrs? The only complaint I can sympathize with is hiss constnt waffling the least yr and a half. Other than that he fits brooklyn perfect. He's outgoing and wants to be recognized on the Lebron/Kobe. Level. Can't blame him nd it'll never happen in Orlando. I heard he and Kobe had a rift about the scoring roles and another reason pairing with his buddy Dwill is his only wish
I grew up cheering for both knicks nd nets. Yes I know that's blasphemy. But the nets might s well not have existed in the 90s. And the only thing I picked up after moving to florida was FSU football. So there was no way I wasn't cheering for Ward, Ewing, Oakley, Starks nd th gang. Even when camby came in But eventually the nets gave me something to cheer for. Always nets over knicks for me, the nets are my team but id be lying if I wsnt a knicks fan in the 90s untill the nets put something worth watchinng on the court. And im from jersey. So after blowing the last 8 yrs im staying true in the move to brooklyn. Im just relieved DWill stayed otherwise bball would've become unwatchable. Which is unacceptable considering its 2nd to only football for me
I'm from Brooklyn and hate Dolan. It won't be hard for me to root for the Nets, though I can't see rooting for them over the Knicks after all of these years.
Houston Rockets making another push for Dwight Howard gathering more assets. I personally don't think it will work, but you have to admire their persistence. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA The Rockets refuse to give up on the Dwight Howard derby, gathering more assets to try and entice the Orlando Magic to engage in talks Expand
I don't understand why they are give up so much for a rental. Do they really think they can entice him to stay in H Town? He wants to be a superstar being marketed as such. Only places that can happen are markets people actually care about. No offense to Houston but it's an awful city with nothing that would make him want to live there. He doesn't even want to play in his hometown of Atlanta.
They think they can be contenders with him and convince him to stay by being so close to winning. Remember they had Pau Gasol for 20 minutes until David Stern called that trade off. They really wanted a star, that is why they are gunning for Howard. Also, as of right now Houston is on that treadmill where they aren't a contender but they aren't bad enough to get good picks. They need to get off and getting Howard and is one way. They currently added 2 more 2nd round draft picks by trading with the Knicks The above is what I am guessing. I really don't think they could convince Howard to stay either, but they must feel like they have something up their sleeve.
Rockets got a couple more 2nd round draft picks and more assets to try to stop the Nets and get Howard...
He has all the money in the world...At this point, he needs to go to a winner and Orlando won't do anything in the playoffs for the next 5 years...
The question is does the Nets roster or Rockets roster give him a better chance? I think it's NJ and the East isn't quite as deep as the Nets so he'll have fewer teams that could knock them out.
Good call on the income tax At the end of the day, it isn't up to him. ORL can choose to throw him to Houston if they think Houston can provide a better package and Howard goes out of conference. NJ gives him a better chance to win, HOU gives him a better chance to establish his dominance as a player if that makes sense? HOU also gives him a second chance to be a face of a franchise
Definitely agree there... I guess the Magic are hoping to extract even more from the Nets by "playing" them vs the Rockets...Even though Howard's only destination he wants to go to is Brooklyn... The Rockets have better trading assets though...
