What do I want him to do? Learn how to read defenses better. I could give two turds how much or little fun he's having.
Not when he still plays at the equivalent level of a glorified benchwarmer. You don't take a fucking vacation to the Caribbean to fool around with Eva Longoria when you're still incapable of reading defenses your fourth year into the league. Would Tim Tebow do anything like that? Not very likely. That's why he'll end up taking Sanchez's spot at starter by the end of year, and rightfully so.
This kid hasn't been focused since day one, like he can seriously afford not to be... He sucks, his numbers prove it, he's done nothing but regress, and instead of just having tunnel vision keeping his gaze only on football and how he can improve, he's out chasing snatch. Got eat another hot dog Mark.
This guy is NOT a top QB, he's in the bottom 5. I think it's all good and well to have a GF and pull some trim, but if I knew that my job was on the line, millions of people were counting on me and rooting for me to do better I would just like to think you wouldn't want this added distraction and pressure, it makes no sense. It's sort of like the Romo Jessica Simpson thing. Yeah Romo got a lot of flack for Dating her but he was already playing good ball before they started dating. He had a QB rating of 97.4 then year they started and the folowing year they were together a 91.4, Marks was a 78.2 last year, the highest of his career... If Sanchez was already playing well this would be a complete non-issue, the fact is he has played about as bad as a starting QB can play. Mark has flashes of talent that's undeniable, but that's about it, flashes. Whatever he's been doing isn't working (worrying about his next star GF) it's time to try something else.
From a social perspective, the reason the World still knows about and talks about Namath and the NY Fucking Jets kicking some Colt ass is because Namath was larger than life off the field too. Namath DOMINATED every rumor mill, gossip column, late night talk shows, on and on,in the largest market in the Universe. Being photo'd with hot, nearly naked starlets around swimming pools, manning the sidelines during games wearing a $1000K mink/fur full length coat, fucking whoever he wanted, whenever he wanted, on and on and on. Plus the 'Guarantee'! He was the 'man-whore version' of Tim Tebow. Namath tongue punched more pussy in one night than you or I will in a life time. And the world loved it. Sooooo.....if Sanchez can step up his game both on and off the field, we may have something here.
hey now clown is a little rough just b/c i hit a few wrong buttons....edit is not what i wanted its delete but they dont have that here
The post I was replying to said that he shouldn't have a gf because physical expressions of love take a lot out of you and your purity of essence - I was simply saying that all the good QBs have partners and it doesnt seem to have any negative impact on their abilities. I fully agree I would prefer him to be in a steady relationship with a non-celeb as I think it would help his focus but I dont think its getting too much action that is the cause of his woes - if only that was the problem!
In general, yes, and ftr I do not buy into the notion that he does not work at his job enough. I suppose if one felt he was doing that, spending too much time socializing, that sort of thing, there might be a basis for drawing some connection. Since I don't think that is his problem, I agree with you. However, it does deserve to be said there is something a bit off putting about the whole thing. Take the obvious example of Joe Namath for a comparison. Namath used to be criticized, to some extent, before the Jets won the Super Bowl, but hte nature of that criticism had to change once he did. He proved that his social life had not prevented him from getting it done. I do not think that is Sanchez's problem, but I concede he has not, as Namath so successfully did, proved that it is not a factor. It leaves him a bit open to speculation, I suppose. But more to the point, and what does bother me personally at least a little bit, is if I thought his social behavior made it seem like he's already accomplished a good deal just having the big contract, the money, the Qb position on an NFL team in a media market like NYC. Hm. The celebratory factor, if you will, when imo he's not done enough to celebrate. Yeah, that bothers me a little bit. Doesn't it make you pause?
