Why would Williams stay for that 5th year and its guaranteed money?

He has to realize that he isn't winning anything with the Nets the next 5 years...especially when Joe Johnson is on the books for the next 4...

I guess we will see if its money (Nets) or wants to win (Mavs) in the next few days...

That's my point, I don't see how Williams would want to stay to play with fringe stars when he can go the FA route and sign to play with real stars and have a real shot to win a ring.

Yeah in this day and age no way in hell would they your right. Billy King decided to hit the panic button though, he should of held his ground. Mavs don't have anything good to offer Williams, and it was down to the Nets and Mavs. They could of had an intriguing package to offer the Orlando Magic, now they will have to play without him, or wait till the trade deadline if it persists.

Mavs don't have anything good to offer?

    Really?

They are closing to a championship with Williams then the Nets will ever be the next 5 years.

Humphries, Lopez, Brooks and 3-5 draft picks to Orlando for Howard?

That seems about right because even the Nets cannot be that dumb to get Johnson and his contract and nobody else.

Not if the Nets can pull off this trade for Howard, which at this point seems to be in the works. J Johnson, D Will, D Howard and Crash, sounds like a championship team in the making!

But most likely Deron will make a decision before knowing what happens with Dwight.

With Dwight still in Orlando, Deron can go back to NJ and play on a good team in the weak East or go to DAL and play with a better team in the stronger West.

The Magic have to accept it. Brooks and 3 picks with those two big stiffs is a good haul.

Johnson as the 3rd wheel in BRO is a nice fit. He won't have to deal with the media as much. As the #2 guy? That might be tough for him.
I have a Hawks Johnson T-shirt. I might get a Nets one now.

Who can the Mavs trade to Orlando? Shawn Marion? Roddy B? Lmao yeah ok. Besides that the Mavericks are old and don't have any young talent to entice Deron or Dwight

Hawks could very well get Howard at this point. Dwight and Josh are good friends and they have a better package to get Howard by trading Teague and Horford. The question is are the Magic that dumb or that desperate?

Nets and Magic are now discussing a trade that would send Howard to Brooklyn for Brooks Lopez Humpries and 3 future first rounders. Via Chris Brussards twitter.

What decent players will the nets be left with if they pull of both trades and keep DWill?

They will be like the Heat their first year. Them and a bunch of fillers. Deron and Dwight are scary enough. Joe Johnson will be a good spot up shooter with Dwight in the post.

Joe Johnson would also go ISO, but with Deron and Dwight creating for him he could be pretty dangerous

I'm on the Nets bandwagon, I used to be an Orlando Magic fan for 15 years but I can't go through this shit again like with Shaq

This is actually a scarier duo because these pieces fit together. The Nets would have an elite PG, an elite scorer, the top center.

This team would be the favorite to win the finals in my eyes. They would have perfect chemistry.

Me and my friends were on the brooklyn banwagon way back in january, my friend kept lets do it so we can say we were there from day 1. I did not expect them to have anyone next year, but it looks like they could have a superteam.

Im sorry Knicks but, the Nets WILL run NY if they get Dwight. Pressure will be on the knicks to make a move now.

No way the Nets get Dwight for Brook-Marshon-draft picks. Wishful thinking but Orlando can get better offers than that even with Dwight saying he's leaving after the year.

With that said, I fail to see how Dallas is that much more of an attractive spot than Brooklyn. Only 4 guys they have under contract are Dirk, Marion, Haywood & Roddy Beaubois. Wouldn't exactly call that joining the '96 Bulls.
