They could be bad or they could be good This is the type of hard hitting journalism that keeps ESPN on top of the sports world
How dare some of you question Dick @ ESPN. He just sat through a months worth of voluntary activities and OTAs. And although offseason workouts can not be used to gauge how good a team will be it can obviously be used to determine how bad the team will be. Duh.
Wait I thought this thread was based on some sort of reasoned consensus of sports leader experts You mean it was just more irrational ravings of jet hate from Dick Semen-i????2 Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
Maybe the thought is that other teams got even better. Adding an unproven offensive coordinator and rookies (which everyone has) aren't tangible improvements. As for the Giants, maybe the thought is that a Super Bowl run will give them confidence. I know after winning in '07, they started '08 something like 12-1 and finished #1 in the conference.
Don't forget that we were 8-8 despite being pretty healthy. With average injury luck and with our shitty depth things could get very very ugly. Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
I'm gonna say 13-3 with our 3 losses being to NE, Houston and Pitt. will be a rough start but out second half of the schedule is really tame. No Schotty anymore. I'm confident in this team.
NY JETS offense ranked 13 in PPG @ 23 defense ranked 13 in PPG@ 22.7 Defensively i think we will improve,,,,,but i just don't see it offensively..this is gonna be the sore spot again....but defensively we should be top 5
Ive suddenly grown more optimistic about the 2012 season. The new safety tandem is an improvement. The D line will be better. Hopefully we can compete for the division title.
Eric Smith is an abortion, I'll give you that. With that said, Leonhard probably won't be back, Bell is 34 I believe, and we were all mocking him when he was in Miami. He's average at best. Landry is coming off a nasty injury and hasn't shown he can get on the field yet. Who are our FS's exactly? How is this an upgrade?
I would have to say that Landry is the fs and Bell is the ss, Smith is good back up. I think we hated on Bell more than because he was a fish more than his actual ability...sure he is a 33 year old so he's lost a step but he is still better than smitty. The only thing that i too worry about is the injury Landry is recovering from...but if he can stay healthy that guy can play FS or SS he is a beast.
I swear your like the SOJ crab, you pull people into the SOJ death hole and you might be right, way to make me pessimistic about 2012
I hate when any critique of the Jets automatically labels you a SOJF. I asked you to explain how it's an upgrade. I feel it isn't. Here's why: Landry is a SS and hasn't been able to get on the field yet. He has a history of injury. Bell is also a SS. Bell is not a kid. As well as being a year older, He is average at best. As we have seen, Smith straight up sucks. Leonhard is gone. I'm simply asking why you feel we upgraded?
the poor same old jets fan just likes to suffer. Suffering is what he does. Don't try and say anything remotely possible because it might interrupt him from his suffering
Hell yeah. But again, 6th (Bush) and 7th (Allen) rounders. I hope they are amazing, but it would be a lot to expect much from them this year, don't you think?
I picked 11 and 5, but if the OL problems continue this year, we'll be lucky if we win 8 games again.
Of course...and i'd be surprised if they both even make the team. But point is the FO brought in some young guns and if the geriatrics we signed are really 'that bad' in coverage, then then bush or allen will have a golden opportunity to step up, step in, and get-er dun. I'm thinking we may see one of these kids on the field a LOT this year, especially with Leonard out and Smith filling in for the two off-injured FA's. edit: anytime it looks like the situation may pan out for a rookie to play (Hill, Coples, now bush/allen) I get excited over the 'potential'. Seems every year some rookie comes out of nowhere to dominated the position.
