The Vikings just said that they have no interest in trading Harvin. And who can blame him for saying that. They have no other receivers.

Harvins in the final year of his rookie contract though.

So they would have to give a big money long term deal after this year anyway.

And considering his asking price, I REALLY dont see that happening.

I think Welker ends up playing the year on his tag, then the Pats just take some no name shit and Brady turns him into a household name

    They GOTTA be posturing.

Harvins in the last year of his contract.

If you know hes going to walk in a year, and youre a shitty team (which they are) if they can get a 2nd + a conditional future pick for him they gotta take it.

Id say somewhere between the two brandon marshall trades is his value, plus as rotoworld mentioned they just added new weapons

They got Jerome Simpson, Jarius Wright, and Greg Childs.

Id surely consider that a receiving corps you can work with. Obviously its all young unproven guys, but they have options.

They should make the smart move and trade em to the highest bidder

Percy Harvin would be a great addition. He's an incredible player. Yes, he was hurt last year but that's because he was the best Vikings player and opponents targeted him constantly to knock him out of the game. Hell, in some games last year Harvin was the Vikings reciever AND running back. It was crazy and they relied on him so much he couldn't stay healthy.

If I were Harvin I'd be getting the hell out of Minnesota too.

Also, I would love it if these possible trading threads were in the main Jets forum. Its not like there's a whole lot going on right now and I don't want to visit more than one forum area.

Im pretty sure his rookie deal was a 5 year deal and he has 2 more years left including this year. If he is upset with his contract, then its a 10 second phone call, but if he is okay with his contract but just wants to get out of shitty Minny then it could be interesting.

Would absolutely love this pick up. Holmes, hill and harvin...drool. Not to mention how legitimate our wild cat offense could be too.

It should work if Holmes is the guy they trade for him. Almost all of his cap impingement at this point is the two guaranteed salaries and they'd be the Vikings cap problem not ours if we did the swap.

That would be amazing if they could pull it off.

They would be still responsible for the signing bonus money that was prorated the length of the contract.

Should have titled it Jets should go after Harvin. The title just says Harvin wants to be traded... nothing Jets related there.

I don't see the Phins showing any interest. With Bess at slot and Reggie Bush playing that position at times as well, he wouldn't be able to give us production that would match what we would have to give up for him

Why would they make that move? A more expensive, older, guy with less future upside and far more of a head case

I agree that the Dolphins won't pursue him, but Davon Bess (a player I like a lot) isn't on the list of reasons why. He's not the kind of player that gives a team pause when considering whether they should go after a talent like Percy Harvin.

you don't think having a combination that is already familiar with each other would be beneficial? especially being from the same region, there's more of a connection.

You're probably looking at two 2nds and Kerley for compensation. I don't know where you guys got the idea of a 4th or 5th rounder.

Likely anyone who thinks we could get Harvin for a 4th or 5th, is probably the same people who think a team would trade for a receiver because he played with their backup quarterback in college

And I doubt it would be two seconds and Kerley.

Most likely it would be a 2nd plus a conditional which could range froma 4th to a 2nd based on performance.

I mean the Fins got Marshall for 2 2nds, and he is a far better talent than Kerley will EVER be

Obviously Marshall had red flags with his behavior, but I think Harvins medical red flags are FAR more serious.

(Im also gonna add that I dont think the Jets should, could, or would have any interest in Harvin at all whatsoever. The very thought of us going out and trading for him is just stupid)

I think his contract has a bigger influence on his market value then you think. Marshall went for two 2nds but I believe he was on the franchise tag. The Dolphins knew they had to pay him.Harvin still has two cheap years left on his deal. With less of a financial risk, teams will be more willing to step up in terms of trade compensation.

I don't understand the Marshall to Kerley comparison, did you mean Harvin?

While I agree with you that it will never happen, Harvin would make the Jets offense a more formidable unit

Interesting number from NFL Net - Since Harvin came into league no WR has more all-purpose yards, and only 2 players period.
