To be honest, I'm not really sure what to read into that. My opinion isn't popular among Bills fans, but I don't see a reason to keep him on the team. He can do a lot of things, but he's "good at everything, not great at anything." He's an average WR, probably a below average QB, average to below average returner, and we didn't use him in the wildcat much last year. Add to that the fact that we have guys as good or better in each of the areas he's good in (Fred Jackson, Stephon Gilmore in wildcat, added Vince Young as a QB who can run similarly, added some more receivers, and we've always had great return men with Spiller, McKelvin, Gilmore, Graham, etc.) and I dont really see why he's necessary. Plus, I think he's making about 4 million a year. I dont know if this move to QB is a last-ditch effort to try and find him a permanent home (he's not a RB, and not a good WR) or if they actually have some sort of niche plans for him there. If it were up to me, I'd let him go. I just dont see the value.
I see everything your saying but I have to respectfully disagree. I don't care that we added Vince Young. For all we know he may not have the mental capacity to learn the playbook or even be a backup QB anymore. Brad Smith was amazing in the wildcat, they ran it atleast a dozen times last pre-season on 3rd and shorts and he converted every single time. Looks like they were gonna use that in the regular season too until he threw that pick in the KC game. Which they had stuck with it a little more. Now I don't understand this thing only working him out at the QB position though. He is versatile and makes great depth for multiple positions. Every team needs a Brad Smith type player. I hope he makes the team, Thigpen should be cut. P.S I think Mckelvin may be cut too.
There's no way he's going to be cut. He's been starting so far in camp and has been one of the better performers on the defense. He's in the last year of his contract with a new D-coordinator who wants to see what he can do with him in the new defense. He might not be re-signed after the year, but theres no way they're cutting him now before they find out what they can get out of him.
Its pretty clear to me that Gilmore and Aaron Williams will be the starters. Maybe McGee will start if he can get through camp and pre-season and enter the season 100%. Mckelvin got beat over and over again last year. Terrible ball skills on deep passes, seems the WR always made a spectacular catch on him. Thats why he was benched. Very frustrating to watch. He's solid depth but I wouldn't be surprised to see him cut. If we do keep him, I would like to see him in the nickel packages. Even if he does perform and have his best year, I doubt we resign him next year. I'm not expecting anything from him anymore and I'll consider anything he does a bonus. Gilmore/Williams are the future.

"6" has a better winning percentage in this league then "48" though. I don't put to much into the wonderlic tests. Show me their actual football intelligence.
I almost forgot you haven't been to a superbowl since 69 what have you done since oh that's right it's nothing to really smile about when i talk about your history.
Bills fans who go a year and a half between posts mocking the Jet's Super Bowl futility are the grooviest.
Bills haven't been to the playoffs in over a decade. Bills also haven't won a SB since 1969 either. I wouldn't really tout your franchises "success" over anyone considering you don't have any. Edit: I'm not a Jets fan.
So your a pats fan i really hope your not a bandwagon nuthugger anyway's congrats on winning superbowl and not your on a 2 game superbowl losing streak. We all know your team is still good and i give you props but your not great any teams are catching up. We all know we haven't made the playoffs and we've had our chances and yes we have no superbowls and yes the jets have a superbowl title that was in 1969 heck they won the superbowl in 1969 and we had more success then them without winning a supebowl
So not only have you not won a single SB nor made the playoffs in a decade+ but your franchise is more successful?
You're on a 4 SB and counting losing streak. I can play this game too. The difference is that my team is in contention every season for over a decade. Bills will be an afterthought to all fans until the team proves otherwise. Overpaying for a pair of passrushers doesn't make you legitimate.

Congrats The Bills will be an afterthought to all fans? we haven't made the playoffs this decade and we still show up to the games it's called selling out games. We all know you've been in playoff contention just like this year you guys have the easiest schedule in the league.I know one thing at least we didn't cheat games to win (spygate) plus why do people act like mario williams is the only player we got in free agency haha.
you guys sell out games? That's news to me.. and news to everyone in Buffalo who had to listen to their home games on the radio because you guys didnt sell a game out after week 9 last season- november 6. Ouch.
