nice list RB is not a Jet weakness Greene, McKnight, Powell, Ganaway, Connor and our new fullback/punt protector no thanks
Let's bring back all the old players we can. Edwards and Jones can carpool in. Brunnell can just rise straight up out of the underworld.
The cost in trade and potential salary make this a tough one IMO. He is cap friendly this year, but won't be moving forward. If the panthers actually consider trading him, they'll want talent equal to a #1 RB in return. Then you have to weigh the fact that he can walk after the year if you don't resign him or have to put the tag on him. Either one is expensive. Letting him walk as a one year rental would be tough, because I believe the price tag in trade would be fairly high.
Matt Snell and John Riggins are both still unsigned and available. Eric Dickerson too. We need to sign those beasts too bad, OJ is tied up with other things at this time
Greene is the only proven RB on the team, and he has been inconsistant at times. For a team that wants to ground and pound, another vet wouldn't be a bad idea IMO. As far as tebow is concerned, he can run, but he fumbles when hit hard, like the Pats did to him last year.
This is a legitimate topic the OP brought up IMO. You're the last guy that should be making fun of anyone, 99.9% of what you post is pure bullshit.
There was an article on turnonthejets.com about this.. I disagree with it though, I think it's pointless to bring in one of these guys.
We need to Develop the young talent we have on this roster and stop chasing after other teams cast off's.
Jackie Battle. He's only had 190 rushing attempts in his career yet he can get 4 ypc...not much worse than Greene. He's a pretty decent back. Here are his stats from last year: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/11197/jackie-battle
as opposed to your 100 percent Not wasting any more time reading any of your garbage. Off to where you belong -- ignore
Some talented young backs on this roster...let's see who can step up. If it looks mum after a preseason game or 2, than they make a move for a veteran.
I think TE, OL (both guard/tackle), WR, maybe NT (depending on K Ellis) and possibly even 3-4 OLB AND 4-3 DE, all need to be bigger priorities in free agency than HB right now. After all we already have 4 young healthy HBs on the roster at this time
Greene will also be a UFA at the end of this season and has not exactly earned the large contract he will demand at that time. As for the comments about let's sign every free agent or every old player we can get. We are talking about a player that will come cheap, that will want to be here, and has consistently outperformed any RB we have on our roster. Yeah, signing him would be a horrible idea. What was I thinking?
NT is not a need. We drafted DL in the first round for two years in a row. We gave Pouha a well deserved contract extension. We have a beast in Kendrick Ellis waiting to open a can of whoop ass on the NFL. WR is not a need. We drafted an absolute beast in the second round of this draft. Kerley should continue to improve. Holmes will be fine if he can keep his head on straight. Keller is more of a WR than a TE. Pass rusher looks like a need unless Coples is the force the coaching staff believes he can be. Offensive line is a huge need. Mario Williams isn't going to stop himself.
Torain is a great back when healthy, I live in the DC area and rode Torain the year before last in fantasy. These guys stay out there much longer they should be pretty cheap. Torain when healthy mind you is better than anyone on our roster. I'm sure someone will burn me with some stats but I know what I have seen with a terrible offensive line.
Pretty sure none of the backs know the system yet, at least not in the context I believe you are using. Brand new system this year.
